Great portable gps device November 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's the 1st time that I actually became an owner of this device & must say I am very much impressed. It worked right out of the box & it is very user friendly. No more printing directions from my pc before heading out on a trip. One can convert currency, check the world clock & so forth... Definitely a must have in today's world
Garmin nuvi 200 pocket November 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product has exceeded all expectations. I had previously purchased a Magellan Roadmate 700. The Magellan has more features but is bulky. The price and value are excellent for the Garmin nuvi 200.
Fabulous November 10, 2007 This is my first GPS unit and I am very happy with it. It does everything I expect it to do perfectly. It's price is perfect on Amazon. I searched all over and found it for $10-20 cheaper but went with Amazon in the end because it's a name i can trust. Take it from me. This GPS or "Gavin" as my girlfriend lovingly calls it will become your best buddy on the road.
Garmin 200 works for us November 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After a lot of GPS research, we settled on the Nuvi 200 as an entry-level GPS tool. It's simple, basic and reliable - excellent maps and reception. It fits in purse or pocket, so we can use it for biking and walking as well as driving. It can be pre-set so we don't get routed onto the dreaded Southern California freeways. The online price of $230 with free shipping and no tax was a big plus (and with the holidays at hand, prices may drop even more). All 200 series models offer basically the same level of no-frills service, with the differences being in the size of the screen or the maps that are pre-loaded. If you're going to use it outside your car, be sure to buy one of Garmin's sturdy carrying cases (about $25). One drop onto pavement could finish it off. We have started to save both time and money as we explore our new Southern California surroundings - at this rate, with gas prices going ever higher, it should pay for itself in about six months.
Fantastic! November 2, 2007 I can't believe so much data can be stored in such a small device. I asked Garmin about the size of memory, but found is is not available. I tell everyone that my wife and my Garmin nuvi 200 do all of the driving now, all I have to do is hold the steering wheel!
