4 out of 5 stars Garmin nuvi 750   January 15, 2008
Easy to use for basic functions. Impressive look up features. Has some basic errors like it thinks our house in on the other side of the street, but this is a software bug that other people with Garmins have reported to us. I wish the accompanying documentation was more robust for the advanced features. You basically have to hack it.

4 out of 5 stars Best Gadget Since Sliced Bread!   January 13, 2008

I purchased this unit for business (Realtor) so that I could program multiple destinations without creating separate routes and it works like a charm, with good resolution both during the day and at night. The only problem is that the volume control is not on the outside so you can't turn it down while driving.

I recently took a trip to Phoenix and found the unit very helpful in locating restaurants, gas stations and banks. We also used it for general shopping with great results!

If you are a first-time GPS buyer, you can't go wrong with this one. If you are a repeat buyer, you likely won't be disappointed either.

Simple to operate right out of the box. Quick start, very bright screen, great mapping and I love the FM wireless hookup to your car radio system. Also recalculates in mere seconds. Takes you right to your destination within yards, either by the fastest or shortest routes. Recommend the Garmin bean bag for sitting on your dash to hold the GPS.

5 out of 5 stars Love Those Garmin GPSs   January 12, 2008
Garmin products rule the market with their inovations, support and longevity. The Nuvi 750 offers a feature rich yet compact unit with great battery life and a nice screen size for ease of viewing. It will be my third Garmin product including my handheld aviation GPSMAP 195 and my sport GPSMAP 60CS. I very excited about this new one.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth the price   January 9, 2008

It is difficult to do comparison shopping for a GPS, mainly because it is not possible to do "test drives". They don't work in the stores and reviews don't tell the whole story. I have used an older Sony GPS and one in a 2002 Toyota. This "top of the line" Garmin device is not dramatically better. It seems to me the processor is slow as it takes a number of seconds to make changes in route. It doesn't provide the most direct or fastest route. The screen "rewrites" in different resolutions as you approach a congested area or change in route; this can be confusing if you are not directly looking at it. Overall not worth the extra price; suggest buying a mid model.
