Not Bad September 23, 2008 Delivery was fast. Net good quality. Rackets medium quality. Shuttle-cocks very cheap quality. I suggest that you automatically buy some spare shuttle cocks. I have used the set for about 3 weeks and 1 racket has broke, not because of abuse, but because of aggressive playing time.
I would rate this as a good buy for the price.
Not a Piece of Crap August 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The wife and I host weekly grass Volleyball games. Periodically, for no explicable reason, our non-volleyball playing friends show up. Over the years we've purchased several badminton sets in an effort to keep these friends happy. These cheaper sets are essentially disposable. They tend to fall apart or become hopelessly tangled after a couple uses. We finally decided to spend a little more money and try out the Park & Sun Pro Set. ( We've had posititive experiences with Park & Suns higher end volleyball systems ) The system more than delivered. It was easy to put up, easy to take down and fit back into the carrying bag with out any problem. The system was more than able to handle the abuse rendered when a handful of children used it for a volleyball game, far more wear and tear you would expect in a normal badminton game. I'm not a good judge of what constitutes a good racquet, but they seemed sturdy. I would have given the system 5 stars except for the cheap plastic steaks. These can replaced with a set of metal camping stakes for a few bucks.
Just what I expected August 16, 2008 When I received the badminton set it was all there with no damage to anything in side. It took a very short time to put up and I was impressed with the shuttle cocks, net, and poles. The badminton rackets need to have a better wrap on the handles as they fell apart after a couple of days playing. I purchased some cheap tennis wraps and rewrapped the rackets with those and they are fine now. The frame of the racket and the strings are very good. My sons (both over 20 and athletic) were pounding the birdies and I have used them quite often and there has been no breakage of the strings and the birdies are holding up. It is the best set I've own and have no regrets other than the plastic wrap over the handles of the rackets.
Well worth the extra money August 3, 2008 This item was purchased based on the positive existing reviews. It may be a little more pricey but instructions very clear and very easy to assemble. Unlike the less expensive sets that I've returned because they just didn't make sense.
better than cheap set, but too expensive for what it is July 20, 2008 I ordered this set recently and have played with it several times now. While the poles are sturdy enough, and certainly more robust that what is found in cheaper sets, the overall package is hardly worth the money in absolute terms. I could not find a better set in my online and b&m search, so I guess I should be happy with a functional product. Considering the cost of materials, I would say this should be half or one third the price.
The racquets are average, with hard plastic grips. Advantage here is that the grip wrap won't come off. Disadvantage is that the grips are slick when wet and not very comfortable.
