2 out of 5 stars Stay away from these cables   August 3, 2007

I purchased these cables to go with my Samsung LED DLP HLT6187S
and Panasonic HTIB SC-PT1050. Connected one between my TV and the HTIB and
the other between my TV and the cable box. DVDs looked ok although I believe they could be better but have nothing to compare with.
The picture on my tv from cable generally improved over the coaxial cable connection. The main problem came when I decided to move my cable box arround. Disconnected and reconnection does not sit as tight as the initial connection. I have to get up to shake the cable a little to improve picture quality each time I change channels.I have already filled
out forms to return these cables. Amazon have some high end cables at prices half those at Circuit city and best buy. You will still be better off getting some high end cables. I have spent thousands already on these
sets and I think it only makes sense to get cables that will match the quality of my Tv and home theater sets.
Phoenix Gold makes 4 different levels of HDMI cables bronze(300 series)
silver, gold and platinum. Guess which one I went for. bronze.
I only purchased these cables after reading all about HDMI being digital and all about some 1s and 0s that the type of cable wont matter. I have learned first hand that the quality of the cable matters. I am not advocating any particular cables right now since I have not tried any others yet. I planned to buy the best that I can afford. Will keep you posted.
