5 out of 5 stars not a bose but perfect for the price   November 18, 2008
We have a Bose ipod dock. It sounds great, but was expensive and, as an older model, doesn't take batteries. So it sits unused 99% of the time in our kitchen. We needed something truly portable, decent sounding and reasonably priced. This is it. I listened to a friend's on a trip recently and really loved it. Knowing how good the Bose sounds I knew this thing was no match in the sound quality department, but it sounded GOOD. Good enough so that we all remarked on the quality coming from such a small battery powered device. I listened to a couple of competing units at the store, but they were not great and all have some other problem -- too big, not good battery life, outdated looks. This works every night in our baby's nursery, takes up no space and looks good. Last weekend I took it camping and got a good 6-7 hours of play out of it at reasonable volume. And it's tiny size makes bringing it everywhere very easy. Love the carrying case.

5 out of 5 stars Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere Compact Speakers   November 16, 2008
Just what I was looking for. I use it with my Apple I-touch, and it works beautifully. It keeps the I-touch charged and the playback fidelity is very good. Very portable and with a very nice case and remote. Great item for the price when compared to the Bose products.

4 out of 5 stars Pure-Fi are Good speakers   November 2, 2008
These speakers are great for the price I paid for them. Good for outdoors and loud enough in small rooms. The bass is pretty good for such small speakers. I recommend for it's price.

2 out of 5 stars Good concept, poor execution- Luckily good customer service!   October 31, 2008
I have now bought two of these units and sadly, both of them have been returned. I didn't even get to use the first one because after charging, the light came on for a sec, it seemed to freeze, and then ceased to work. I got a replacement and within a few months, it no longer held a charge. But it still worked while plugged in. Logitech customer support was great and offered me a refund and I won't hesitate to buy from them again. I loved this unit because it was attractive, compact, had a remote, and I liked that it could be charged and taken out and about for the day. Sadly, it did not live up to its expectations but I look forward to whatever their next newly designed model may be.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointed   October 26, 2008
I got this back in Feb of 08. The speakers sound good, even at the louder volumes. I got this to play rifftrax through as a movie plays through the surround.
It worked well for a week or so. It was so nice to not have to depend on a near by outlet when using. Then I noticed that the battery wouldn't recharge. It fully recharged nicely twice. With no warning it just stopped. You can actually see it. The LEDs will freeze as they cycle. Most of the time it would freeze on 3 full LEDs. So you think it's fully charged. Nope. It's disappointing that it can't hold a charge at all. Lately I've started noticing my ipod acting funny while using the speakers. Makes me wonder if the problem is more than just the battery and maybe it can damage my ipod.
It's a good set of speakers, but with the battery feature all but absent it makes it hard to justify the premium price. I'm a big logitech fan and am very disappointed.
