The kindle does not come with a car charger. I suggest this kit becasue Gomadic offeres two important qualities:
1) faster charging by offering more power. you get what you pay for, if the charger is cheaper this means they use cheaper electroncis and it will charge slower. with gomadic they offer higher amperage and a higher quility circuit.
2) lifetime warranty ... need I say more :)

I recommend Gomadic chargers. Using this charger I have found it charges faster. Gomadic also offers a lifetime warranty, you don't find that anymore!

I got a Kindle for my birthday, and it is by far my favorite gadget for 2008. It is so easy to download new books, and they cost less than what you'd pay at a book store. The wall charger and car charger have also really come in handy so that I never run out of power. I would definitely recommend this item.

My dog chewed my original kindal power adapater... amazon said it would take a "long time" to get it back in stock. i bought this and it works great. i also got it in a few days after i ordered it.
