GREAT LITTLE GPS July 12, 2007 ONCE YOU FIGURE OUT ALL THE THINGS IT DOES, IT'S GREAT, IF YOU MISS A TURN IT RECALUALATES, HAS ADDED ATTRACTONS IN THE AREA.
This is great!!! July 11, 2007 This has been a great tool in the car! I use it all the time to find new locations, nearby attractions, and to estimate arrival time. I was leary about the suction cup on the windsheild mount, after reading other reviews. The mount worked great for about six months and then the suction cup became corroded-looking. We contacted the manufacturer who said this was covered under warranty and is sending out an improved version of the mount immediately. I have been very pleased with the performance of this GPS, and now am very impressed by Garmin, as well.
GPS July 8, 2007 This GPS is just what you need to get to any destination. It is as clear and concise as you could want. We drove all over Florida and never got lost!
I love my Garmin! July 7, 2007 This is a great product for the price. The scrolling wheel can be a bit tedious compared to the touch screen versions, but it's definitely manageable. Has given great, easy to understand directions. Between the audio cues and the visual map, it's very hard to miss your turn. And if you do, the route is just recalculated for you. I made it to and from a 5 hour roadtrip with only the Garmin and no written directions or other maps. The only downside is that very new roads are not found on the map, and I have once experienced it telling me to go down side streets when clearly the route I needed to go was straight ahead and when we did arive to the intended address, the garmin told us we were not at the destination, but it was in a small town.

Out of the box the unit sat idle since Dec 2006. USB driver install went fine on W2K as well as download and install updates. Indoors I did not get a signal. I followed the directions to go outdoors. Still no signal. Got "Locating Satellites" and "Aquiring Satellites" but no link up. Local interference? Took it for a ride still no signal until I turned it on and off at the next stop light 6 miles down the road. Returned home to a good signal. ???? Windshield mounting was easy and the unit can be snapped off the mount without the suction cup coming along. It fits nicely under the rear view mirror on my S-10. Menu is simple enough and manually finding POI is easy. With my eyesight the small screen is a little hard to read when it is mounted on the windshield. A tad bigger screen would be better for the bifocal crowd.
Included documentation is sparse and the downloaded version is helpful but not complete. i.e., how to use your own downloaded POI. I get the feeling that the online download sight needs more. The online support is what holds me back from giving Garmin a 5 on this product.
