4 out of 5 stars Second Puchase   January 1, 2008
I had a Rio Carbon and liked it very much but I dropped it and the volume control got stuck. It still worked for quite awhile but recently it locked up when turning on and off. I ordered another one to replace it after reviewing the other models available. The unit has a rechargable battery and it cannot be opened but it lasts long enough for me to get in several hour or two workouts before recharging.

The package arrived in about a week and it was wrapped very well for shipping.

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased with Rio Carbon   December 11, 2007
The Rio Carbon was actually a gift for my husband. He loves it. It is very user friendly. Unlike the Ipod that everyone else in the house owns and he is very happy.

4 out of 5 stars Great Little Player   October 11, 2007
The Rio Carbon was my first MP3 player. I was very pleased with it. I'm now sold on Creative products but I still kind of miss the Carbon. It was small and stylish. The sound quality and capacity where great and it was easy to navigate. Drawbacks? I liked the ease of the computer program although I must say that it was pretty slow at times. I switched out because it locked up and I couldn't get it fixed. Had the same problem with the Carbon Pearl. For those 2 reasons I couldn't give it five stars. I hope Rio has fixed those things. Otherwise it may be the best little player you ever had -- to trade in a year from now.

1 out of 5 stars More trouble than it's worth   September 5, 2007
I have owned this product for 2 1/2 years and have been wholly dissatisfied with it. I have had troubles since the beginning with it freezing up and skipping. I spoke with customer service (which does not have a 1-800 number) and they sent me a few downloads which temporarily remediated the problem. I spoke with customer service on many subsequent occasions complaining about the problems I was having, but all I was directed to do was download more updates. Recently, I have been having even more problems with the device but when I went to call the rio customer service, I found that they will not even talk to you until you have given them your credit card number and they have charged you a "service fee." Way to back up your product. Overall, the product was bad and the customer service worse. I don't recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   August 16, 2007
I've had my Rio for 3 years and I have to say that while friends of mine have gone through multiple players, had problems and whatnot, my trusty Rio does the job perfectly and has the best profile out of most of the new players.

Best of all, no need for iTunes, the most cumbersome Windows port of all time.
