Motorola Ojo's Realism July 10, 2005 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
I spoke to my nephew, who is 3, today on the Ojo. It was interesting to say the least. He was very excited to see me, but didn't seem to understand the concept that this was a video and essentially not real. He asked to see my dog, which he tried to pet through the Ojo and was very disappointed when he couldn't. I thought he was going to cry. He kept begging my fiancee to let him come to my room. Which we atttempted to explain to him that I was far away and that was not possible.
I thought our conversation was educational not because of what we dicussed (he is only 3), but of his reactions to the Ojo.
If the Ojo could keep his attention for a 1/2 hour and make him think that he could touch a puppy through it, the video quality must be pretty realistic.
The Ojo is a fantastic product June 29, 2005 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
The Ojo is amazing. Its a technology thats here to stay. In this day of e-mails and with no time to visit relatives who live very far away its just great to hit the button and see them and hear them LIVE thousands of miles away with such incredible clarity.
You won't get it 'til you get it June 17, 2005 23 out of 28 found this review helpful
My friend found out about this videophone, bought FOUR of them for his family and then hounded me endlessly to get one. It's easy to think you know how a videophone might work and imagine it's somewhat like using a webcam, but really you have no idea until you see what it's like to press one button and see someone right on that screen. For those of you out there who hate the thought of having to get dressed and be all presentable to answer the phone, you can just turn off the screen and use it like a normal phone until you get your pants on :) Speaking of which, imagine what this product will do for couples in long-distance relationships, never mind the grandparents and family scattered around the world who you can now see in real-time! And you can talk ALL DAY for free. I can't stress enough the insane coolness of Motorola's OJO.
No computer needed for OJO ! May 27, 2005 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
My mother is 79, lives in NJ. I got her a Motorola OJO, and my brother in AZ got one. My mother burst into tears 1st time she saw the grand girls in 2 1/2 years. So life like, almost like being there, she could "almost touch them". So much better than a phone call, so cool. They OJO each other alot in the few weeks they had them. Excellent quality, picture like the TV, very life like. Nice speaker and nice features. Easy to use, no computer. I highly recommend it, price should come down if the cable companies start to offer it. 5 STARS *****
