Super great buy! August 18, 2008 This thing in a great buy!! The same one at Best Buy is OVER 300 bucks! It works just like it says it does! it's great! But sometimes is says the street names wrong..but its still a pretty cool device..
Good Device at Excellent Price August 18, 2008 I am trying to figure out why this unit is less expensive than a Garmin n250. It does the same things plus has a chip to hold files of whatever kind, including pictures and music, which can be combined as a little picture frame with music.
This same unit was advertised for twice the Amazon price at Best Buy at the time I was buying. It made a great birthday present for my father.
Everyone should have a GPS unit, finding virtually any place is so much easier. It helps greatly to focus on driving and minimizes confusion. The time savings pays for the device quickly.
Works as Advertised August 17, 2008 We made a trip recently to a town we weren't familiar with and had to locate both a motel and a meeting place so thought the GPS system would be a help. It was, until we got into town and were told to exit the interstate to avoid construction - the construction had recently been completed so we didn't have to. We made it to our destination but took a less than direct route. Don't know how that could have been avoided since the construction had been completed just days earlier. Found out that friends who used Mapquest to find where to go had the same problem. Evidently construction in an unfamiliar area is going to be a problem whether it's ongoing or completed! On our return trip the GPS did help us find a restuarant miles before we exited the interstate. We are wondering, however, if there is some kind of attachment we could get to mount the device on our dashboard or somewhere so we don't have to lay it in the floor, hold it, stick it in the cup holder or attach it permanently to some surface. We were hoping to be able to switch it from vehicle to vehicle but haven't solved that problem as yet. And what would have seemed to be a small screen is not a problem at all.
Nuvi 350 August 17, 2008 Cool gadget but wish it would store my preferred route for routine trips. I love the MP3 feature and use it constantly to "read" new books.
Good GPS, and do help a lot August 17, 2008 I brought this GPS just weeks ago. It help a lot especially when I drive to SD last weekend. The "avoid highway" is pretty convenient that I can get rid off CA-101 during rush time. And the function to find out food location is pretty strong that this weekend I went out for lunch with friends. The problem is they got a wrong address for the restaurant. Every GPS on the car can not help, except mine nuvi 350. :) Here I give one star deduction only because sometimes it seems to take more time to find the satelite signals than the streepilot.
