Works Great, as it did for my Palm V! March 16, 2002 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
As a heavy user of my Palm V (both for regular data entry and for word processing, via Documents To Go 4.0), I was anxious to acquire a Targus Stowaway Portable Keyboard for my new Clie 760c.After installing and syncing the necessary (included) software, which took about two minutes (tops!), the keyboard worked great -- just as it did for my Palm. I now use it to input data wherever words are required; such as in my address book, calendar, memo, and Task List (using Franklin's Dayplanner software, version 7.3). I can also print (any of the above) from my Clie (just as I did on my Palm) to almost any IR (infrared) capable printer using Docs To Print (available from ISComplete.com). I take the keyboard to meetings (where everyone is blown away by the unit's small size when folded -- and full-size keyboard when unfolded); and when I use my phone or computer to check voice mail or e-mail, respectively (to more quickly enter notes or items upon which to follow-up). Other's scoff at the idea of using a PDA for word processing. With the Clie's high-resolution color screen -- and with Targus' full-size fold-out keyboard -- I'm the one getting the last laugh when I arrive at meetings empty-handed (and without a laptop), with both my Clie and Targus keyboard in my pockets -- and no pieces of paper to transcribe or file afterwards. The only time I need paper is when my Clie is unavailable -- while syncing! The Clie is great! But the Targus Stowaway Portable Keyboard makes it even better!
Stowaway for Clie 710 March 16, 2002 A must accessory for the on-the-go type. The keyboard is light and compact. Programmable shotcuts allow easy access to important information and applications on the handheld. Other Clie owners reported difficulties installing the application, but I had no problem. Stick the cd in your drive, install the software, hotsych, start typing. On the downside, the keyboard lays flat and is hard to touch type.
not as good as the one I had for a Palm Vx March 2, 2002 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this product to go with my Clie N760C (I was replacing my Palm Vx system), and expected the quality and speed of the keyboard to match (or outperform) that of my Palm system. It didn't! In fact, one of the developpers emailed me that the keyboard drivers are not yet technically compatible with the N760C. Its a great product, but even with the latest drivers, using either WordSmith (a great MS Word sync & write program - the best) or Documents to Go, it doesn't keep up with my typing speed, whereas my old Palm did. Go figure.
Very Compatible with Clie 610C! February 7, 2002 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Getting this keyboard to work with my Sony Clie 610C was a bear, but after a lot of time getting nowhere with Targus' Technical Support, Sony and I finally discovered the solution. Hard reset, install the latest driver (and nothing else), and then reinstall the other applications. Once I got the palmtop to recognize the keyboard, look out! It works like a champ.
The neatest gadget for your clie. July 6, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is simply the best addition I've bought for my Sony Clie. The drivers installed quickly and flawlessly. The keyboard is a trifle thin but is of the perfect size even for my large hands. The typing response is quick and with the various function key combinations, you'll never need a stylus again.
