Really great!! June 24, 2008 I have had the GolfLogix GPS for over a month. It is really great. No complicated buttons to push. It goes automatically to the course you are playing and moves from one hole to the next with you. When you sign on to the website, you will be given updates to the courses you have selected. I have used both the Sky Caddie and the Bushnell laser range finder. This is so much easier. It keeps you informed of distances to dog legs, hazards, fairways and greens automatically, so there is no distraction from your shots. I am so glad I have it.
Golf Logix GPS June 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Golf Logix GPS is probably the easiest unit to use on the market right now. Just turn it on pick the course and play. No buttons to push just read the yardage. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it locked up on me the last time I used it and had to take the batteries out just to reset it. It has only happened once but we will see.
Love it June 24, 2008 I am impressed how easy this product is to download and use. I am only hoping it helps my game. It is especially useful on courses I am not familar with. I would recomend this product for any serious golfer.
GolfLogix June 19, 2008 The advantages are that its easy to use, rugged, and has a low cost subscription. The disadvantage is that you get less information than some more expensive units (which are harder to use). Since it gives us all the information we want, and you don't have to push any buttons as you play, we love it. It speeds up the game, and makes you feel committed to the club you selected.
Awesome Product (made a great Dad's Day Gift!) June 18, 2008 My Dad had always wanted to get a SkyCaddie so I started researching them and found info on this, and found that the reviews were overwhelmingly in favor of the GolfLogix. I was a little skeptical of Golf GPSs, but I knew Garmin was a front runner in the GPS market so I decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed!
My father said after the first time using it, it saved him ten strokes on his game, because the accuracy of the unit gave him confidence in his club decisions. I've borrowed it a couple times on subsequent trips with him, and it is indeed very accurate in terms of distance to green, hazards and layups. So far we have not noticed an issue with signal problems or innaccurate distances.
The software was very easy to install, set up, and use (even for a technologically illiterate fellow like my dad!) and offers just about any course you could think of. I noticed the little par 3 academy course near my house was even listed, much to my surprise. Searching for and importing courses is a breeze, and the unit holds up to 20, so it's not like you'll have to constantly swap out courses as long as you have a handful of favorites you play often. Battery life was about 22-25 hours, or about enough for 4 or 5 rounds (of 18 holes). The unit comes with a belt clip, but my dad picked up a cell phone holster for a little extra security, and keeps the GPS clipped to his bag.
In a game where every advantage helps, the GolfLogix is an easy-to-use, very accurate tool. I may not be able to speak for the SkyCaddie, but if you're in the market for a golf GPS, I can definitely say the GolfLogix does its job very well. Happy hacking!
