1 out of 5 stars Garmin GPS 60CS Handlebar Mount   April 12, 2008

I have purchased 5 of these items and they break after 5-6 months of street riding. I'm glad I had the fore thought of using the GPS strap to secure the unit to my handlebar or the GPS would have bounced on the concrete street. I really enjoy the GPS unit and the handlebar mount is a great idea --- I only wish it would not break for no reason!

5 out of 5 stars Motorcycle GPS holder.   March 19, 2008

I've used my GPS while on my cycle, and it's really quite a dangerous challenge. Try to hold the GPS and steer, shift, brake, turn...all with one hand. This holder, which I just received, looks like the answer to a real need. It will attach my GPS to the handlebar where I can see it as I ride, and allow me to remove it with a press of a button. The base of the holder stays on the bike, and is so small as to not even be noticed by passers-by.

4 out of 5 stars perfect   March 6, 2008

3 out of 5 stars Buy a RAM mount instead.   February 27, 2008
I've had a few different Garmin mounts (GPS 5, 60CXs and Nuvi 660) and then discovered the RAM mounts. They are far superior in build quality and strength. I have the RAM mounts in my car, on my motorcycle and on my mountain bike and they never move - ever. They cost about twice what this mount costs but they are definitley worth the price. Check out GPS City or equivalent for ideas. $10 extra is a small price to pay for a $350 unit NOT to fall off your windshied or bike!

4 out of 5 stars Great but use the wrist strap too   February 26, 2008

I have used this for over a year. I did have to buy the larger bracket for my road bike but the one that comes with this fits on my touring bike. I like how the mount just slides off the bracket so it is easy to switch between bikes. They aren't that expensive.

I was never comfortable with my $500 (now $300) 60CSx just sitting in the cradle so I loop the wrist strap around the handlebars.

My touring bike has 2 inch tires (60psi) so it handles the bumps well. My road bike of course has the thin tires pumped up to 125psi and does not handle the bumps well.

It was working fine until a couple of days ago I hit a bump on my road bike and (as some else mentioned) the little circle part cracked. So every bump home would knock the unit out. However, the wrist strap saved it from hitting the ground!

I called Garmin support and they are sending out a new one. Since I had it for over a year and their support is awesome I rated it 4 stars. Since it broke I couldn't give it 5.
