No need to be wordy. I have used a GPS for more years that I can remember.The 2820 is absolutely the most accurate one I have used. Also, it is easy to use. I highly recommend this item.

I don't know how I got around all these years without it!! Accuracy is amazing!! Never loses the signal and has lots of great features. Once the signal is obtained the display tells you how long it will take to arrive at your destination. It's very user friendly and I've used it "on the fly" on a few occasions already (finding restaurants within the area I'm driving at the last minute). It's my new 411/Yellowpages!!

I have had a 2620 for several years, bought this unit for my wife.
It is faster to find things when search, the directions move faster to your next turn when giving prompts and cheaper than the previous unit I bought several years ago with more functionality and marked improvements, all in same size unit, same mounts

We've been using the Garmin StreetPilot 2820 for about a month with great results. It's accurate and calculates good routes. The estimated arrival time feature is awesome.
It comes with a car lighter power adapter with a small speaker attached on a hinge and this allows me to position the speaker away from the gear shift in my car.
The system does not run on batteries, but that's not a requirement for me. This might be a draw back if you have only one lighter outlet in your car and you want charge your cell phone at the same time. It does come with an AC adapter for initial setup or for use in cars with an AC outlet.
I setup my cell phone to connect with the unit via bluetooth and it works great for dialing out. I have had occasions where the audio on incoming calls didn't transfer to the speaker and I had to push the phone icon on the StreetPilot screen to transfer the audio. It works fine after I do this.
Overall, we've been very happy with this product.

This is our first GPS and it is da bomb. We use it even in areas where we already have an established route. My husband and I have determined that it will pay for itself with decreased gas usage very shortly. What I thought was a short cut in a nearby large city... was NOT. The 2820 GPS got us to our destination so fast, I couldn't believe it. I am impressed that we are no longer using the "slow, long route" to one of our favorite destinations. We got it at an unbelieveably low price. Amazon has dropped the price twice within the 30 day range that we bought it, so we got refunds to my account.
