4 out of 5 stars A Gift Hit   September 9, 2008
I bought this for my wife and she loves it. Small, easy to carry and useful in the office or at the gym. I had problems figuring out iTunes for loading the iPod. Somehow I would add stuff and then go to add more only to lose all I added the first time. I prefer Windows Media Player for music loading but that doesn't work for iProducts. Either way my wife loves it and we're thankful we bought the 2GB rather then the cheaper 1GB. With devices out there holding up to 8GM its better to stay away from the 1GB.

5 out of 5 stars The Perfect Workout Partner   September 4, 2008

This is the third MP3 player I have owned. I had a 128MB Nike/Phillips for about 3.5 years before it finally kicked the bucket. I replaced that with a 8GB Creative Zen Microphoto. The ZMP was nice but I really wanted something that would be better for running/lifting/biking.

I was deciding between this and the Creative Zen Stone which was slighly cheaper at the time. I ended up going with the ipod because of the metal casing and the built in clip. I have really enjoyed the purchase and would definately buy another one if this ever broke.

PROS:
- Size: it is small enough that it doesn't take up much room and you definately don't notice the weight at all. At the same time, it is big enough that the buttons are easy to find without having to lookdown or "search around" with your fingers.
- Clip: I had armbands for both my Nike ZMP players which I wasn't to wild about. Armbands arn't bad if you are running or biking, but they can be a annoying when you are doing upper body lifts. The clip eliminates this problem.
- Memory: I find 1GB to be the perfect size. You can fit 200-250 songs which keep me entertained for a couple battery lives before I feel like switching them and giving myself something else to listen to.
- Build: The metal case is very nice looking and quite strong as well. I have dropped this sucker more than I would like to admit and it has never been a problem. Heck, I even dropped it into a sink full of water and it still works perfectly.

CONS:
- Shuffle. I don't know if it just me but it seems like I will hear some songs about 4 or 5 times before I hear some other ones. Not a big deal at all, don't let it discourage you from purchasing this, but if it were more balanced I would be even happier.

I-pod was in great shape and looked like new even though i ordered for a refurbished piece.

5 out of 5 stars Shuffle   August 31, 2008
I really like the shuffle. I had a Nano. When trying to change the song while running, changing the volume was difficult. It tended to FF or REW easily. Maybe if I wasn't concentrating so hard on just breathing!!! I gave it to my husband. The shuffle clicks vol. UP and DOWN. I like being able to clip it to my shirt or sportsbra and not having a band on my arm. I set my Nano on the treadmill and now it skips. I was told by a friend that when she asked apple about the same problem it messes up the hard drive from being jarred like that.
