3 out of 5 stars SanDisk Sansa e280 8 GB MP3 Player   June 25, 2008

Overall, the product is awesome in size, easy of use, available features...I was, however, very disappointed when it just died on me only after 3 weeks of use. It was very well maintained, I even bought a case and everything. Never been abused in any way. Apparently when I took in for a repair, the film inside caused the battery to slip? They just had to move the battery back in place, but wonder how often this would happen and whatelse could go wrong.

Sandisk 280 great product. I am still downloading audio books and more music than I thought I knew. On time shipping all the bells and whistles.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   June 23, 2008

I've had my Sansa for about 6 months now and I love it. I've recently got hooked on listening to books on CD and have loaded many books from our local library download site and put on a miniSD card. All of my music is on the Sansa. This way, I can pop the miniSD in and have access to the books I want to listen to and pop it out if just listening to music. This helps eliminate me "shuffling" my music and getting a chapter of a book mixed in. If I have the SD card in, it takes about 15 extra seconds for it to boot up and show those, but that's nothing.
Great battery life. I've only run it down once and that's when I forgot to shut it off in my car before going in to work and discovered that evening it was almost dead - so over 10 hours straight play time and it still had some juice left (and that's after it had already been used for a couple of days).
Easy to handle, great size, durable, great sound

Disadvantages - like any portable electronics, get a screen saver so you don't scratch the screen up.
Micropone button to record is easily pushed if you aren't watching where your fingers are on the side. Would like to see it moved to top or even lower on the side, it's where your fingers naturally sit.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best electronic purchases I have ever made.   June 19, 2008

I bought the e280 for my wife but I find myself "borrowing" it from her all the time. Aside from the fact that it works so well and sounds great, It fell off of my belt when I snagged it with the swimming pool brush pole and sank to the bottom. I quickly pulled it out, removed the battery and set it in front of a fan... It worked perfectly! I know Sansa wont' claim it is waterproof, but I'm just sayin'!

2 out of 5 stars Bad support from Sandisk/Windows Media   June 18, 2008

I would stay away from any of the e200 series for the simple fact they don't perform as specified. I've had my e260 for a year now and IT HAS NEVER been able to sync album art over from WMP11. You'd think Sandisk would be concerned? Apparently not. Their response was to manually add the JPEG image file for each album, something that is tedious to say the least. You'd think there'd be a firmware update to fix this wouldn't you, seeing as the packaging has the PLAYSFORSURE logo prominently featured, but apparently so far there hasn't been. Microsoft also came up with no ideas how to fix this. Sucksforsure, more like!
