I purchased an iPod shuffle for both my girlfriend (22) and son (7) this Christmas and both are loving it! It's simple enough that a 7 year old can use it without any problems (he still comes to me to move songs onto it, but he already knows how to plug in the USB and charge his iPod when it dies). My girlfriend is fairly computer illiterate and has been able to easily figure out how to copy her CDs into iTunes and put them on her iPod as well. Also REALLY like that it has a volume limit that's able to be set through iTunes and password-protected (for when my son's a little older). That way, he doesn't blow out his eardrums at 7 years old and when he's a little older and able to work his way around iTunes, it's password-protected so that only I can update the maximum volume allowed.
I was very pleased that this version of the shuffle has a metal casing which makes it seem much more substantial than previous models of the Shuffle that I've owned (all plastic). This way, I'm not worried about my son breaking it at all, just losing it because it's so tiny! :D
My daughters favorite January 21, 2008
We bought this for our daughter for Christmas. She just absolutely loves it. She used my wife's ipod before and wanted her own so badly. She also wanted hers to be blue (her favorite color). She takes it wherever she goes.
Fantastic for exercising January 19, 2008
I actually have the pink version of the Shuffle. But never mind the cosmetics. This is a great little iPod. You simply clip it to your clothes (no armband needed) and off you go. I find myself continually fascinated by the mixture of sounds. If you don't like that mix, just plug it in and the computer will find a new one for you.
Who needs the video when you have a little wonder like this?

When Christmas arrived and I had wanted to buy something for my wife, I heard her saying that her old MP3 was too bulky and what did I think of iPods? When I first took a look at the iPod line I saw the cute little Shuffle model. It was smaller than a book of matches, plus was cute as could be in various colors! The Shuffle holds 240 songs or 1GB and you can easily make up different playlists if you over fill it or want to change genres.
Light as a feather, cute and inexpensive....what's not to like?

I bought and 4 others just like for my staff as holiday gifts. They are small and cute. I have had my own personal shuffle for 1 year. I love it and iTunes. It is so easy to upload and so convenient to use.
