5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Value   July 22, 2008
I have been using this little mp3 player for about a month now. I had no problems with startup. I had no problems with loading songs. It was recognized immediately by Windows Media Player 11 and accepted playlists without a problem. After reading some of the review on here I was a little hesitant to get it but took the plunge. I am extremely glad I did. The 2GB size is more than enough for me. I haven't even used half of the space yet. And the FM radio is excellent...crystal clear. The only thing I would like to see is a timer to shut it off if left on accidentally or i fall asleep while listening to it. Maybe it is there and I just haven't found it yet. All in all an excellent value for the price!!

1 out of 5 stars P.O.S.   July 22, 2008
Cheap, cheap, cheap. If you are looking for something to last more than two months you need to move on from this piece of junk. The clip broke off, then it stopped playing entirely. That's it, 1-2 threw it away. You have been warned.

5 out of 5 stars Great sound in this little guy   July 19, 2008
My son has an Ipod that cost 4 times what I paid for this and I think the sound is just as good, maybe even better. I like an MP3 player better than an Ipod, because it's so much easier to put music on, and manage. The screen is sometimes a little hard to read, but that would be the only bad thing I can think of.

5 out of 5 stars If you buy a Shuffle, Shame on You   July 16, 2008
This might be the best deal in the music player space. For the amount of memory and features you are getting, this device is great. I've had it for about 4 months now, and there is very little to complain about. The screen is bright and is just the right size, and the tiny size definitely initiates a response when people see you using it. For about the same price level as a Shuffle, you get a backlit screen, FM radio, voice recording, and playback of MP3, WMA unprotected and protected, and even Ogg Vorbis for you open-source nerds! The clip is removable to make it even smaller. Here are some points I have noticed throughout my time with it- the other reviews cover basically everything else.
- Ditch the provided earbuds. Like all the other complementary buds, they are two-dollar crap.
- The clip is irreplaceable, even through customer support. If that functionality is important to you, you might want to consider a Shuffle.
- Protected tracks bought through iTunes are unplayable.
- The sound quality is outstanding- I own an Archos 604 wifi that went for over 400 dollars when it came out, and this little marvel keeps up with it in terms of sound quality.
- The mic is only useful for personal recordings, and even those sound kind of muffled. But what do you want when the mic is the size of a pinhead?
- Battery life is terrible at default power settings. Lower the length of backlight time and the brightness, and lifetime increases exponentially.
-The FM radio records in WAV, which is nice, but the quality seems to be lower than the actual broadcast. Can't figure it out.
-You will not mind the unit not having a replaceable battery- in a year it will cost less than the price of the battery itself!
I highly recommend this device unless you have a large library of protected iTunes tracks, then you know what you poor souls have to get already : )

5 out of 5 stars Better and cheaper than the comparable iPod.   July 16, 2008
Features are easy to use, surprisingly durable, good equalizer. Just needs better headphones and you are ready to go.
