| Customer Reviews:
apple itouch 16gb May 15, 2008 plenty of room for all music,e-mail,video,and surf the web!!! cost is high but hey its apple quality.
GOOOOODD May 14, 2008 GOOD IPOD I GOT IT AND LIKE IT SO MUCH I ORDER THE BIGGER ON WITH MORE GB'S I JUST DONT LIKE HOW THIN IT IS CAUSE IM 6'4'' 224LBS AND I GOT LONG AND BIG FINGERS BUT ITS A NICE IPOD
IPod Touch 8GB Music,Photos,Videos and Email on the move May 14, 2008 Delighted with my IPod touch which does everything it claims to do and more. It's small enough to carry in your pocket yet big enough to enjoy photos and videos. The battery lasts for 5 hours when playing music and about 2+ hours when watching videos and the product is pleasingly compact. Would strongly recommend it, bearing in mind that it does not come with a case, which means an extra purchase. Overall a very good product indeed.
Nice PDA, poor MP3 player May 13, 2008 I bought the iPod touch as a replacement for a 3G iPod. While I find it to be a useful PDA for checking weather, browsing the web, keeping track of my calendar, and reading email, it is much worse as an MP3 player than the iPod:
1. For podcasts, it lacks the podcast description. You get the name, but Apple left out the description of what the show is about. For podcasts without descriptive names, this is a great loss.
2. There is no eyes-free operation when playing music. The screen locks up after a little while, after which you need to pick up the iPod touch and unlock it to access the controls. You can hit the menu button twice, but you still need to be looking at the ipod to see where the controls come up.
3. The ability to look at music horizontally or vertically means that many times it shows you the wrong thing. Not all the controls are visible in the cover-flow view, which seems to be the one that the iPod defaults to when you lay it down on a table.
4. No ability to rate songs as you listen. On older iPods, you could rate a song while you listened to it, but the iPod touch does not seem to have this ability.
Overall, the iPod touch feels like a PDA with limited MP3 and podcast playing capabilities, rather than the other way around.
Not Perfect BUT Highly Functional May 11, 2008 This is a product that successfully mixes form & function. The IPOD TOUCH looks great with it's minimalistic design, and it performs to or above your expectations. I am happy with my purchase, but here are some things that you might considering before making your own purchase.
PROs - Looks good, Apple always make there products look good, clean, hip. - Applications (Calender, notepad, browser, contacts, email, etc.) allow you to treat it like a PDA. - The Safari Web Browser has better navigation than anything else out (better than browsers on PSP or Archos PMP)and in my experience the load time is much better, too. - Full Keyboard, with easy access to (numbers & symbols.) There is a short learning curve, but that is to be expected. As a bonus the Ipod touch does also have a spell check/suggestor. - Maps(application)basically gives you a free "GPS"(If you can access some WiFi in you present location)
CONs - Highly suseptible to scratches, get a case & a screen cover(s) - No hold button - If you bump the power button while it is in your pocket it will likely turn on & juice the battery. - Terrible Battery Life (I have to charge mine every night) - Software...I hate Itunes, I should not have to sync if I choose not to. - Video files should not have to be only M4p, A free video converter would've been nice, but Apple wants you to buy Quicktime Pro. If you download most or all of your video content your gonna need a video converter, I got and highly recommend AVS Video Converter it converts ANY FILE to be accessible to ANY DEVICE.
KNOCKs (would've been nice, but not a reason not to buy) - For $300 you would think you would get a larger amount of memory. - You can only see streamed videos at YouTube or Flash format. - No zooming on your videos, but you can adjust wide screen/pan scan. - It would've been nice to have an internal speaker, but we all knew it didn't have one when we bought em. - No memory expansion port - No removable rechargeable battery.
