Simply Amazing July 25, 2008 After much research I finally made the decision to get this TV and it is one of the best purchases that I have made. I watched movies on it often and the picture quality is just Amazing. It is also great for gaming.
Best quality on the market. July 25, 2008 The Samsung LN46A650 46 inch, 1080P, 120 Hz, LCD, HDTV with Red touch of color, in my opinion, is the best product on the market. I couldn't be more pleased.
Very Happy Customer July 25, 2008 I was, like most of you, searching for one of the best televisions available but not wanting to spend 3,000-4,000 dollars on a Pioneer plasma. I'm currently a college student so it took me a long time just to save up for the 650. And after around a year of researching, I really could not be happier. Batman Begins and Planet Earth on Blu-ray just make you want to reach through the screen at some points (the tumbler car chase scene is simply ridiculous and is what I first show off to my friends). I used to have an issue with the auto motion plus but since you can set it to off, low, medium, or high, it gives you a chance to gradually get used to it. I have a PS3 and GTA IV and Modern Warfare are really something to experience especially when set to the very bright game mode. The delivery was great and they had everything set up extremely quick. I even got $82 back with the 30 day price match. Just take my advice and see for yourself at Best Buy. You can then laugh at their listed price, go home, read the glowing reviews, and buy this tv from Amazon.
Everything I Expected July 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Researched for almost a year. I have a Panasonic ED Plasma from three years ago....that I paid 2300 for. I just wanted to upgrade to 1080, better pic etc. It came down to this and Panasonic TH-42PZ85U. Last minute measuring of my entertainment center made the choice easier as the panaconic was about 1" too big. HDMI picture is awesome. Sound from the TV is even pretty good. Better through DTS but pretty good. Amazon service was very good. A little fuzzy on some regular def channels, but I rarely watch those. Sooner or later those will turn to Hi def anyway.
Pic in Pic....is there a swap function? I don't think there is. If so, can someone please advise? I can't figure it out.
Also...is there an on/off switch on the TV itself? Please advise if there is. Can't find that either.
People complain about the remote....It is fine....I think people just need something to complain about. Now that I have all the settings done, I just use the Comcast remote anyway
Very happy. The red is no big deal either. I actually think it looks kind of cool.
Another Fast Delivery July 25, 2008 Like many of you I've read all the great reviews about this set and decided to pull the trigger when I saw the $1699 price.(which has since raised) Everything about the quality of the LN46A650 has already been said but the quality of the delivery service seems to get mixed reviews.
I ordered my set on Sunday morning and it was delivered at noon on Wednesday. It was in perfect condition and actually delivered by an agent apparently contracted by CEVA. The driver was very pleasant and polite and stayed until I was happy that there were no problems with the set.
Although very fast, the delivery didn't come without some major confusion from CEVA.
CEVA seems to have some real issues knowing exactly where their items are. After reading about all the issues with CEVA on the Amazon forums I took the advice from those posts and called CEVA to set up my delivery rather than waiting for them to call me. I called them on Tuesday when I saw their tracking showed my set was in Philadelphia which is their closest terminal to my house. They set me up for Wednesday delivery. Late Wednesday morning I called to confirm delivery and was told that someone must have made a mistake and that my set was in Columbus Ohio. They then offered to set me up for Friday delivery.
Within the hour I got a call from the delivery agent and was told they had my set on their truck and were on their way to deliver it.(now I was really confused)I asked them to have their driver call me so I could arrange to meet him. The truck showed up and miraculously had my TV that CEVA thought was still in Ohio.
It gets better.....Later that evening I got a call from another driver that said he was going to deliver my TV tomorrow and wanted directions to my house.
Bottom line....keep an eye on the CEVA tracking system and call to set up and confirm your delivery. If they seem confused or give you questionable information make sure you question it or call again and ask someone else. It seems their system works....they just don't know it.
The set is awesome and the price here on Amazon is the best you'll find. As it turned out, even with the confusion I was thrilled with the fast delivery and ease of this purchase!
