Great Garmin 350 July 8, 2008 This was a birthday present for my 21 year old son ,we call him Mr. Gadgit. The Garmin 350 passed the test he loves it.
Great Help July 8, 2008 My wife used her friend Garmin before purchasing so we know what to look for. For the price and free shipping I decide to buy 2 of them one for my dad and one for my wife. Both of them use it and like it, the only issue that I have it the map update. Garmin only give you one update so when a new map is avilable you have to pay for the update. I don't think that is fair especially at high price for an update. I understand if it only $10-$20 but for $50+ it's worth buying a new one.
Poorly conceived and gives LOTS of simply wrong directions July 8, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I can't believe the designers of this product have ever tried to use it. Allowing the user to enter the zip code as a shortcut, instead of having to type out the city name each time, would be obvious to an idiot ... but not to the people at Garmin. Yes, 80% of the time, the device is wonderful. But the other 20%? Better stay on your toes for an instruction to get back onto the freeway you just exited, going in the opposite direction, AWAY from your destination. Or turning into a residential neighborhood that is miles away from where you're trying to go. I received these idiot instructions about one out of every two or three trips. BAD PRODUCT - BEWARE!
works effortlessly July 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very simple to use: when my (young) daughter gets lost, she pulls out the GPS, plugs it in, and finds her way home (or to a friend's house). We don't use the window mount because we are worried about theft and smashed windows; instead, we just lay the unit on the console and listen to the directions.
This little Nuvi is fantastic! July 7, 2008 After much research on the GPS I decided on the Garmin Nuvi 350. Amazon's price was great, the size of the GPS was made to order so I can carry it in my purse, or put it on my dashboard with the weighted dashboard holder I also ordered from Amazon.com. It comes with a small case to keep it in which keeps it clean and scratch free. I liked the advantage of a long battery life (8 hours) and the ease of it's use.
When I finally had it in my hands and then on a trip I discovered much more. It found restaurants that were not yet noted on the Nuvi, i.e. Il Fornaio in Sacramento and took us to places we had never been before, even though we knew the route we always took, Nuvi took the short way and we discovered a beautiful route to Santa Barbara.
The voice is clear and prounouces very well. The volume adjustment is easy to find.
Nuvi wasn't always right, but 99.9% right-on!
