This product is really good, but after having used it for a little bit i have noticed a few delays whenever I touch the screen to search for an address etc....It also doesn't re-calculate routes as fast as other GPS units such as the Garmin C550 (<190 value). Other than speed issues, it is a very good GPS unit for right now. The cursor that moves as the vehicle moves also doesn't move as quick as it should.

I ordered this online on Mar. 16. After receiving it, I used it while driving to N. Carolina. It quit working one week later on my return trip to Illinois. I mailed it back for repair on April 4. They said it was irrepairable and would be replaced. The sent a refurbished model, which I received on May 15, and I refused to accept it.I sent it back the same day. After speaking to a supervisor they agreed to send me a new, not refurbished, model. I am waiting for it.

I bought this item since it was on discount and had a lot of cool features. But I wasn't able to use it even three times when it blocked/froze, and now I have to return it for repairs. I had looked up some reviews and everything seemed great....now that I googled Magellan 4250 frozen I found that this seems to be a very common problem...I kind of wish I had not bought it. I just hope they give me a working unit back!

I bought my Magellan for its ease of use and it works great, all features are easy to use. Trouble is I bought this unit because I have been transferred to Charlotte NC. I am looking for addresses in Concord and they are not on the Magellan map. I went to the web site to see if it can be updated, but no updates instead the web site says up to date beginning of 2007 well its May of 2008 and most of the area I am looking at was developed in the last year. So this is outdated and unusable to a big degree for quickly developing areas before it is even put on the shelf for sale. I made a bad assumption, I thought the software would be updated every six months or so, wrong throw it away and buy a later version, if you can verify the map really is the current years.
