Magellan 4250 July 14, 2008 I was considering the Garmin 760, Navigon 5100 and HP Ipaq 310 and the 4250. I finally bought the Magellan and the HP. The Magellan is way better and user friendly than the HP. I never lost a signal and always routed me correctly. The bluetooth is very clear! The kids love the voice command. This GPS exceeded my expectations.
Great GPS July 14, 2008 My first Magellan 4250 froze on me after 3 days and had to be returned for a replacement. The 2nd one is working perfectly, and was great while on vacation. Driving with this one is a no-brainer, it warns you of upcoming turns and then beeps when you have arrived at the location to turn. Advanced notice is given at about 2 miles, one mile and .5 mile. I love it.
Very satisfied July 14, 2008 The 4250 has a lot of features, but is easy to use. It got us into and out of the Bronx for a Yankee game-how about that for a first time user. The screen is easy to view. The "exit point of interest" feature is very helpful. Any negative points I read about this model were just not issues. I recommend it.
The Magellan 4250 is a GREAT VALUE July 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros Good large touch screen The GPS was always right with directions The AAA tourbook(a feature on this gps) was extremely useful because it told me when shops or attractions closed or opened. It also gave me information about the shops and attractions. The Gps has a nice easy interface It provides accurate turn by turn directions with TTS(text to speech) The windshield mount is nice and sturdy
Cons It sometimes freezes even with the latest firmware The traffic reciever only works in the United States Some of the Points of Interests were outdated
I took this gps to Canada and it performed great. the directions were always right. Since i am a first time gps user I needed a nice good priced gps and this was it. I spent time researching about Garmin and tomtom gps wiht the same price but they weren't as feature rich
You can't do better for the price July 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Folks this unit for the price today walks and talks its way over the competition. Just make sure you do a software upgrade to 4.6 and you'll have one of the top auto GPS units available at even twice the price. Allan's review hit the nail on the head and with the software you'll be singing its praises as you merrily cruise down the highways and byways.
