easy to use August 30, 2008 This is my second unit, i lost the first one. I enjoy this unit because it is easy to use and can be listen though the car speakers
Too Easy! August 30, 2008 I actually read the instructions before I set up the device but you really don't need to. The T505 paired immediately with a BlackBerry 8820 & LGVX9900. The internal speaker sounded loud & clear, and the quality of sound's been great through the car's stereo when the FM station's clear. People I've called hear me very clearly while I'm driving at freeway speeds with the A/C on. The unit's great at finding clear FM stations and I liked the voice announcements of the clearest FM station. The volume controls are conveniently located. Voice recognition worked well. Since the unit works so well I purchased a Sony TMR-BT8iP for my iPod & it works great with the T505. Of course I then have to use my earpiece with my cell phone. Mini-cons: Would have liked variable auto-off time, but unit is easy to turn back on; better to have all controls on front; no AC charger; need more visible power indicator.
T505 not up to snuff August 29, 2008 The Motorola T505 bluetooth in-car hands free device does not work well. After you figure out where the on and off button is (rear left) and that you must wait for a half minute before you can activate an FM channel, you can proceed to be disappointed. Once you have it and your phone on, you push an FM button (rear right) and watch a tiny white light flash (can't see it in full sun) and wait for a recorded announcement to tell you that you should now tune your radio to FM channel 91.5 (for example). When you do, you should be able to hear incoming and outgoing calls through your car stereo system, when tuned to that station. However, if you are on the road, forget it. You lose the FM station so often that when you take a call it doesn't work. The frustration grows when you find that the device drops out frequently, even around town. When you finally figure out that you aren't able to hear the call on your car stereo, you push the FM button again (watch the light flash) and then hear that you should tune to ANOTHER FM station and this happens over and over again. If you're lucky, you make or receive a call right after tuning to the latest FM channel and hang up before your call is dropped. It's a pain in the butt, nothing else. Wouldn't recommend it.
I like it! August 28, 2008 Having to be "hands free" now in CA I opted for this 505. I already had the 305 in my other car and I like the 505 better and worth the extra few bucks. The stereo feature is nice for those who need more volume. I'm still learning how to quickly go to stereo and it has been a bit of a learning curve. The only problem is voice recognition on both models. For some dang reason it often does not hear my "yes" when it repeats back the name or number I spoke. That can be very frustrating. I'm willing to live with it and otherwise like this method over the ear piece.
Love this Thing August 26, 2008 GREAT...LOVE THIS THING!!!! Works like a charm...it's like having Blue Tooth built in to your automoblie...
