| Customer Reviews:
Canon Pixma MP 470 July 25, 2008 I purchased this product after reading all the reviews posted on Amazon.Com. It truly is a remarkable printer and highly recommend to anyone who is in the market for a quality printer for under $100.00! For the money, you can't beat it! Very satisfied with printer and as always, with amazon.com!

MY OPINION? READ, READ, READ, REVEIWS...I did and it got me this wonderful and excellent quality printer. The ink cartridges last longer than most to. Excellent is my words for this printer. YES I WOULD RECOMMEND IT!
Very nice home printer July 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Canon has built a reputation for quality printers to match that of their cameras. And with the MP-417, it seems deserved. I bought this to replace an HP PSC-2010 all-in-one and have been quite pleased with it. The MP-417 has a large selection of features. It was primarily designed for photo printing and works acceptably well for that. But my main use is as a general home printer/scanner and for this the MP 417 seems perfect. I don't have much need for photo printing and I don't really need the memory card features as I download my camera to my PC. And I'm not real sure about the value of the little flip-up LCD screen. Doesn't seem necessary to me. But it's not in the way so I can live with it. Compared to my old HP, the Canon is faster, much quieter, and produces a much clearer print than anything in it's price range($100 & under). The old HP's grinding and whirring are gone forever. The ink is a snap to replace. Just lift the scanner bed (it's hinged), snap out the old cartridge & snap in the new. I don't even need a flashlight to see anymore. And speaking of ink cartridges, they are cheaper than HP's. A set of cartridges for the Canon runs $10 cheaper than HP's and comparable to store brand refills. And Canon offers 2 different sizes of cartridges for normal use and the power user. The footprint is larger than the old HP so you have to use more desk space. And it feeds from the rear & straight through rather than feeding from the front & looping back. It doesn't seem near as finicky about precise paper insertion as the HP was. The scanner is good enough. I'm not doing portrait work. Scanning text can be iffy. But then I haven't seen a scanner for under $1000 with a really good OCR capability. So it's acceptable, even good for it's price range. All in all, I recommend the Canon MP417 for moderate home office use. The purchase price and the cost of supplies is very nice and the function is a real step up from my HP. This is my first Canon printer (having owned just about every other manufacturer). So let's see if Canon's reputation has long legs. Now only time will tell.
Bad Printer..Bad Bad printer! June 30, 2008 When I first received this printer it was great. The pictures look great though it is cheaper to take them to the drug store. It worked great for two months and then it stopped feeding paper. I wish I had googled first this is a common problem. I haven't sent it back due to lack of funds but I will be contacting Canon this week and it will probably cost me a lot to send for replacement. Stay away this printer does not hold up.
Canon photo printer June 20, 2008 At first I wasn't sure about the printer whether I liked it or not. It was the paper I used that wasn't right. I really like my printer!
