5 out of 5 stars Great Antenna   October 7, 2008
I installed this antenna in my attic over the weekend. The reception is amazing. I live 20 miles away from the nearest transmitter. I plugged it into my HDHomerun, and I'm extremely happy with it. It shows my signal strength is 100% and signal quality is > 90%.

Make sure to follow the directions included with the antenna. I highly recommend this antenna.

5 out of 5 stars Great mid sized antenna   October 4, 2008
I love this antenna. I have it placed approx. 20 ft in the air and am receiving Indianapolis stations from a distance of approx. 55 miles. I did have to use an inline amplifier to strengthen the signal (due to the long distance from the source), but the antenna works great to pick up both Indy stations and those broadcasted here in town. Oh and did I mention that I get 65% signal strength with the furthest station (58 miles) and 85% to 97% with every other!

1 out of 5 stars Beware!!!   October 3, 2008

AntennasDirect is really pushing their new series Antenna before crunch time ends before change over..
Beware, I order the $129.00 long range antenna.Great shippping time..and Tracking info...
The problem is I received someone's problem. They Box had been open prior, just retaped. Missing screws and the flimsy contact board in connection box was broken at bolt head, not allowing for one half to transmit. It was obvious that the antenna had been put together and taken apart with bent sections and missing hardware. I decided to put it together, due to impatience of wanting to see what it could pull in.After hunting thru the garage for pieces and parts to put it together,I was able to get a few channels from one side..I then sent an email asking to purchase the board or a whole new Black box for connection. It has been almost four days and 7 emails, and still no response.Three calls have been made and they transfer you and then disconnect you..So beware, purchase at own risk, if you need answers or parts, they will not respond. Your best bet is ship it right back... Good Luck!

5 out of 5 stars Like Magic!   October 2, 2008
I live in an area with reception issues. Line of sight is interupted by the end of a mountain range. Distance to towers is about 25 miles. Analog is out of the question but once I was ready for digital TV I decided to give it a try. I tried three different antennas. First, the kind that clip onto your satellite dish. Didn't work. Then I tried two different indoor/outdoor amplified types. Did not get ANY digital channels.

So I decided to go for a real, mounted type antenna and chose the DB4, based on reviews, specs, size, and cost.

It immediately found ALL the digital channels available in my area, just from testing it inside the house! It is mounted outside now, and I receive all channels at high strength ranging from 70% to 89%. I am using about 75ft of cable and a distribution amplifier just before a splitter to two rooms. It works!

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing performance   September 29, 2008

I live in central NJ 50 miles south-west of NYC and bought the DB4 expecting that it would improve the UHF reception I had previously gotten from an old, attic-mounted, Radio Shack VU-110XR. Surprisingly the DB4 performs significantly worse than the VU-110XR in UHF reception. With a Channel Master amplifier CM7777 installed the VU-110XR was able to pull in nearly two to three times as many DTV channels as the DB4. So for now I am feeding the TV off the amplified signal from the VU-110XR for both UHF & VHF. I regret that I did not first buy and try the CM7777 rather than the DB4.
