sweet wall mount July 29, 2008 This Peerless wall mount is great. It mounted to my 40" Samsung 4061 perfectly. I mounted it to the wall with ease. The hardest part was getting it mounted exactly level because I'm sort of a perfectionist. But the tilt locking screw allows you to fix the screen if it's not perfectly level after it's screwed into the wall. This was my first wall mount and I was suprised how easy it was. It's a good idea to have another person help you if you have a 40" tv. I'm glad I did.
Well Made Mount July 18, 2008 This mount is solid and easy to install. The only thing I wish was different is the part of the mount that fastens to the wall. There is only two screws! A wider base with more screw holes would be better. But it is hard to complain considering the very reasonable price. I recommend this mount for anyone who can easily find a stud in their wall.
A Cheap, But Strong Solution To Mounting a Flat Panel HDTV July 17, 2008 I used this mount for a Samsung LNT3253H, 32" HDTV and it worked just fine. We wanted to mount the TV near a corner and only a single brace mount would accommodate our installation plans. This mount affords the maximum in flexibility for moving and angling your HDTV into the position you want it. It even includes some ability to tilt the TV up or down.
Installation was fairly straightforward. As many have noted, be sure your mounting screws are in the center of the stud! Check and recheck before drilling the guide holes and use the guide holes to test that you aren't on the edge of the stud. This mount has only one bracket with two screws to hold up your HDTV. It will easily hold up a 40" wide screen LCD HDTV if properly installed. But, if the screw connections aren't solid in the stud, the weight of the HDTV when extended on the arm could bring the whole thing down. The screws are tough to get fully seated and you should definitely have a helper when putting in the screws and when mounting the HDTV onto the articulating arm.
Alternatives to this mount cost twice the price or more and few provide the single mount arrangement. No regrets here!
Sturdy, Cheap, Fashionable and Functional July 16, 2008 I was very nervous to mount my new TV to the wall, but this unit is extremely sturdy and I trust it after installing it. It uses two 2.5" screws to go directly into the stud. I do not like messing with my parents drill and screwing into the wall, but the setup was relatively easy and the hardest part is the nervousness of getting your tv hovering in the air. Be sure to be as level as possible with the mounting or the TV will be crookedy (you can correct it a bit though with the hardware). This TV makes it possible to view my TV properly from my desk as well as my bed, so it does exactly what I want it to do. The space savings are considerable and made the difference in my room flowing well and being overcramped. I really love this product and have already recommended it to my family members. My new Samsung (LN37A550) works perfectly on it.
Excellent Wall Mount July 16, 2008 I have been using the peerless wall mount SA740P for over four months now. The mount is strong and well built. Very happy with the flexibility of the mount - 4 joint movement: 3 joints allow to you to move the LCD 180 degrees (or almost 180) horizontal along the wall, the fourth joint allows you move the LCD 20 degrees vertical along the wall.
I am using a Samsung LCD 32 in for my mount. The weight of my LCD is approx 25 lbs and the mount handles it extremely well. The mount is rated to handle upto 60 lbs but I have not tried that weight. I did, however, hang dumbbells weighing 30 lbs on it for a week before I attached my TV.
The mount was exactly what I was looking for. Very satisfied so far.
Cons: The mount is held on the wall with two screws that come in the box. The instructions ask you to drill a hole using 5/32 drill bit (I think). The drill bit size is set such that the screw is tight for the hole and holds well, however, I was unable to screw in the screw in the hole and stripped the screw as well. I had to go buy new screws and had to drill a bigger hole 3/16. The mount is stable though.
