5 out of 5 stars This is a really great mic, but...   July 16, 2007

Will not work with Windows Vista, and the company has thus far been non-responsive to customer requests for an updated driver, leaving Blue Snowball users in a real lurch.

Works great in XP though.

1 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE - THIS MIC DOES NOT WORK WITH VISTA   July 12, 2007

BUYER BEWARE!!! As of July 2007, this product will not work on PCs running Windows Vista. If you require a microphone that will work on Windows Vista, be sure to contact the manufacturer BEFORE buying this product to ensure that they have upgraded the firmware to support Windows Vista.

1 out of 5 stars Does not work with Vista   June 21, 2007

I'd like to reinforce what the previous reviewer stated about the incompatibility of this microphone with Vista. Blue's user support has been utterly unhelpful with this problem. None of my phone calls were returned and the few comments posted on their online forums by user support have been rude. They have flatly refused to give any indication as to when or if the problem will be solved. Instead, they blame Microsoft and even suggest creating a separate XP-only partition on your hard drive so you can use this mic. The simple truth is that you won't be able to use this mic if you have a Vista machine. Read the forums on Blue's website for more on this before you waste your money. Good luck.

5 out of 5 stars High quality sound - Great value   May 31, 2007

This michrophone allowes one to, at a low cost, record high quality digital tracks. The only drawback is that some ascessories are required for it to be mounted on a traditional michrophone stand. The equipment it comes with is best for seting it up on a table top.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome quality for the price   April 29, 2007

I've used other more expensive mics. This one provides the audio quality you'd find in a $300+ mic for way less money. The mic itself is solid, heavy, and looks great sitting on your desk. Think softball to imagine the size -s yes it's that big. The one I got came with a little chrome tripod and a USB cable - ready to go right out of the box. I also purchased a desk boom stand, but keep the little stand around for road trips since it packs up nice and compact. On the back is a little switch for uni, uni (with 10 dB cut), and omni. I pretty much keep the switch in position 1, but sometimes use position 3 for doing interviews using one mic. The integrated USB is nice for keeping your portable rig down to a manageable size: laptop, USB cord, and Snowball with stand. I have used it to do voiceovers for short training films and movies, iChatting, and podcast production. I wish the little LED was blue instead of red, but I can't really complain - a mic is for recording audio, after all. And the Snowball does it really well.
