5 out of 5 stars Outstanding and addictive   July 11, 2008
I have been using these watches for 15 yrs. The preset countdown alarm is a lifesaver. And as I spend more time around others, they lean over and use my watch for its features. Completely addictive. Love it. I replace immediately when I occasionally smash one.

5 out of 5 stars Great Watch.   July 9, 2008
I have owned the same style of casio watch for more then 14 years. It's great for fishing (being water proof) and the alarm is easy to reset for my daily medication. Its also inexspensive so if I loose it or it gets stolen I can easily replace it. Durable watch and band. Just the ticket for someone who always has their hands in water.

5 out of 5 stars Best watch ever   June 29, 2008
I've been wearing one of these Casio's for at least 15 years, I'm not very large, so I like it's smaller size compared to many digital watches. It isn't indestructable, (the darned strap attachment seems to be the weak link for me), but I wear it without regard to activity: swimming, showering, snorkelling, gardening. The count-down timer is the greatest invention, great for cooking, timing hoses (so I don't leave it running forever). I am having a difficult time reading the small count-down numbers now, but I know what the increments are, (1/3/5/10/15/20/30 min) so it's not really a problem. I have a hard time finding this watch locally lately, but Amazon comes through, and at a better price. I have three family members & numerous friends who also wear this watch and have the same affinity for it.

4 out of 5 stars I love this watch   November 30, 2007
I agree totally with the previous reviewer (Mother with 2...) the only reason not to give it 5 stars is the lack of a light, but the countdown function is why I love it. I use it as an oven timer so I can leave the room and not worry about hearing something finish. I can go back to my desk when heating a cup of water, and not have to remember it 2 hours later. It's wonderful! The last time I had the battery changed, they messed up the timer function. :c(( Unfortunately, the store where I've purchased this watch the last few times does not consistently carry it, so I'm also going to buy two of them. They last for years, but I don't like worrying about whether I can still find a replacement when it dies!

5 out of 5 stars The ONLY watch this great!   October 9, 2007
I have been buying this watch for over 20 years. If you are time-challenged, distractible - a member of the ADD club, or are a very busy multi-tasker - this watch is a MUST buy . It will change your life. I think of it as "a countdown alarm on a strap" It sets for 1-3-5-10-20-30 minutes at the touch of a button. You don't even have to LOOK at it because it beeps as the [very] tiny bar across the top coordinates with beeps you can hear as you press. As the ADD Poster Girl (with no sense of time - really!), I *need* alarms to stay on track. But if they are a hassle to set I don't! I've looked *everywhere* for watches with this feature and nobody else makes it.

I have bought *only* one watch besides this one, *only* because my local retailer stopped carrying it and I needed something NOW. It will go in the garbage the minute my new ones arrive.

The only down-side (besides the fact that it is an extremely homely thing - jewelry it is NOT), is that the battery is hard to replace without disabling features and flipping parts all over the room. I've never found it to work right when I put it back together, so I buy it again every time it goes dead - because it is ESSENTIAL to my optimal functioning. I just bought two more because I MOURN the day they ever stop making this watch. I don't do well AT ALL without it.

If you care more about functioning than fashion, BUY this watch NOW. (the strap can be changed, which helps).
xx,
mgh (by the way, my REAL name is Madelyn, not Madel - no way around it the way credit card companies truncate long names)
