5 out of 5 stars XM Receiver   April 20, 2008
Great way to hear things on the radio I wouldn't otherwise be able to hear. Not easy to assemble with given directions, for me at least.Delphi SA10118 SkyFi XM Satellite Radio Receiver and Vehicle Adapter Kit

1 out of 5 stars Delphi = Junk   March 3, 2008

I got this radio for my birthday in August 2007. It worked great for two months, then the antenna jack failed and I had to sent it back for a replacement. The replacemet lasted for a week before the same problem occurred. The second replacement came broken- it was a refurbished radio (I had originally bought a new one, call me crazy but I think that when a new product breaks under warranty it should be replaced with a new product) with more than 200 songs already loaded, not that I could listen to any of them because as I said, it came broken. My third replacement was also a refurbished radio, with ten songs loaded on to it, it never picked up a signal.

Now it's February, 2008. This time I called American Express, and was told to send the whole thing back and they would arrange a refund. I did, and two days later I got an angry call from Delphi- they want to know why I didn't go through "proper procedures" and "give them a chance to honor the warranty." I told them that I had no interest in getting replacement radios until the warranty expired and would NEVER do business with Delphi ever again.

Oh, besides the constant breaking down, all of the negative comments already here are spot on- the screen freezes, the buttons are unresponsive, the unit hates the cold (I like to take walks, if it's under forty degrees this unit will NOT function properly) you get a constant "No Signal" or "Check Antenna" signal (check it for WHAT? I think Delphi wants you to jam the thing into the unit till it breaks,) etc. etc.

Avoid this unit, and you'll avoid big-time headaches and frustration.

I ordered the Samsung Helix yesterday- my niece got one for Christmas 2006 and hasn't had one issue with it as yet. I wish I had forked over a little more money for that one.

1 out of 5 stars Good idea poorly executed   February 21, 2008

The Delphi SkyFi3 is a radio with great ideads and is poorly executed. Great features, etc. but apparently the software programmers forgot to test all the log rhythms. I went through 3 of these with all the problems people have mentioned- log ups, not connecting to the PC, one of them had an annoying chirping sound. I was sad to do it- but I gave up and returned and got my money back. I now have the Delphi xpress RC- it worked right out of the box- sounds great, and does not lock up. Stay away from the SkyFi3 until they work out the issues.

1 out of 5 stars Poor Battery Life, Antenna Connector, and Constant Lockups   February 19, 2008

Purchased a new Skyfi3 as a gift for my wife's SUV. The Sure-Connect antenna connector does not fit the antenna (her's is a short stubby type on the rear of the SUV), so I had to hold it in place with black tape. The battery lasts about 15 minutes so I assume I got a unit with a bad battery so I will have to send it back for a replacement. Of course this unit locks up, so thanks for those who posted the Right+Power button reset. The lockup cause I found is when it searches for signal. If you have a home kit then block the antenna a few times, even if you have it in the "Aim Antenna" mode. It seems like their processor is too slow, so when it changes songs (trying to record the song details) and the unit has to search for signal, it seems to lock up. Since the unit seems to have a very weak receiver, it searches for signal a lot...as others have noted. My advice, don't buy this unit. It sounds good in the marketing descriptions, but there is a reason that so many of us have posted these warnings.

3 out of 5 stars Cool product, has mind of its own   February 10, 2008

I would have given this five stars, because it looks really cool and works great in the car when it works, but sometimes it freezes, and other times it just doesn't work. Definitely long on features and looks, short on quality and reliability. Would I buy it again? Maybe. I would take a closer look at alternatives.
