| Customer Reviews:
Good value July 22, 2008 I was looking for a simple mp3 player for my wife to use while walking. I accidentally ordered two instead of one, but after using one, decided to keep them both so that I could have one. I have used both the radio and music features. The display is small, and the menus take some getting used to, but it is hard to beat for the price.
Great Mp3 Player (for geeks) July 21, 2008 For the price there isn't a lot that can beat the Sansa c240. I bought it because it has a MicroSD slot. (extensible memory is great) The FM Radio, Picture Viewer, and Voice Recorder aren't all that great, but they're fun extras.
Speaking of fun extras, the biggest boon to the c240 is it's ability to run RockBox [www.rockbox.org] as custom firmware. This is a bit geeky for most users, but since the original interface is horrible, it might be worth a try. You'll find that your c240 is much more powerful than you thought it could be.
With RockBox you can watch videos, play games, skin the interface, run simple programs, and still have all the original functions (radio/voice) intact. The biggest limitation is it's screen. At 132x80 you really can't do a lot with it. If you want to show off to your iPod using friends, just show them how your mp3 player can run DOOM.
I adore my c240 running RockBox, but here's why it's still a 3 star. RockBox is an add-on and isn't terribly easy to get started on. The original interface is horrible. The screen is tiny and lo-res. The USB cord is custom and replacing it isn't cheap.
Nonetheless, I love my new Sansa c240. If you're geek who loves to customize your electronics then you will love it. If you aren't then you might want to pass.
Better than Shuffle, less expensive July 21, 2008 This MP3 player is the best!! A screen to navigate your library of songs, a slide show feature for your photos, FM radio and download capabilities, voice recorder for lists and messages. Love it so much I bought 3 (for other family members)
Zero Stars July 17, 2008 Seriously, should you purchase the SanDisk Sansa c240 1GB mp3 player, you may be very disappointed. My player performed properly for only a few months before imploding. Contacting SanDisk for assistance proved futile. You're wasting your money.
SanDisk Sansa C240 July 15, 2008 I love this product I have purchased 4 one as a 2 gb and the other three as 1 gb. I use the 2gb to record class lectures and then review them later but also to listen to music. It is very easy to use and love that it is rechargable so I don't have to be buying batteries for it all the time. If you are into listening to music and just want something to use everywhere I suggest this product.
