This thing is GREAT!
Yes, it's small - the word "micro" in its name is a clue.
Yes, it's tricky to use. Kingston could have included some instructions - well, there are two pictorial hints regarding how to slide the cover off the reader. Also, it's very small.
But hey, it worked great for me and it's so inexpensive that it's hard to believe that anyone could complain about this product.
I bought it to transfer pictures from my cell phone (Alltel Hue by Samsung) to my computers. One of my computers has a Linux operating system. There were no compatibility issues with either Linux or MS Windows. The file transfers were very fast.
It turns out that this combination of micro SD card and card reader can also be used as a Flash Drive with removable memory.

Reliable unit that works as you would expect. No compatibility issues experienced. This is a small flash drive that actually uses a removable micro sd card. It is almost too tiny in that it can be tricky to get into a USB slot if you have large hands or fingers. Nonetheless it works and is compact enought to keep on your keyring.

This item does not even deserve 1 star! I purchased this to transfer music from comp to my cell phone but my comp would not even recognize the card reader so I'm stuck with a empty micro sd card....don't waste your money spend more for a nicer one! this one looks and feels cheap not to mention it is so small and you can't hardly take the micro card out of the card reader.

The Kingston SD card and card reader is a great accessory to my mp3 phone. The ease of use makes for quick transfers of music and photos to my phone.
Convenient and practical March 17, 2008
I bought this microSD card and reader to use with my Nokia 6126. It works great, and has given me tons (compared to the on-phone memory) of extra capacity to store music, video, and pictures. Not to mention the card reader is compact and easy to use. Simply plug it in and you're ready to go. I will be buying another one of these, but the 2GB version.
