This item works great in our car. It stays put and in our car (Acura), you can even place it down in front of the gear shift (if you don't want it on the dash.

This is a great buy. Now I can move it around to get out of the Glare area. Wish I had this with the original purchase.

If you have recently purchased a Garmin, you do need this product. Unlike the windshield mount that accompanies the Garmin, this product can be easily placed anywhere on your dashboard with little or no risk of the Garmin falling off the windshield or the dashboard. It is extremely easy to use!
I highly recommend this product to any Garmin user!

Excellent GPS accessory. Great for easy removal from dash from visibilty to those opportunist GPS thieves. Held well through mutiple switch backs on I-70 through the Colorado Mountains. Highly recommend for any Garmin GPS, must have accessory.
Works Perfectly for my Nuvi 650!!! June 30, 2008
I bought the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for my Nuvi 650 since my windshield mount would fall off every so often and I thought the windshield mount looks somewhat unsightly. I have been very satisfied with the dashboard mount. It doesn't move at all when I accelerate, brake, or turn. I thought that it would move a little, but it doesn't. I've tried it in two different cars. I also like the fact that you can easily remove the dashboard mount, as I've been worried at times that someone might try to break into my car with the windshield mount. I know you can remove the windshield mount too, but not as easily as the dashboard mount. I would highly recommend buying the dashboard mount!
