5 out of 5 stars Very easy to use!!!!   August 13, 2008
If you are looking for something easy and simple, this is the unit for you. When I'm on the golf course I don't want to worry about hitting different buttons to get the info I need. Golflogix will give you the doglegs, bunkers, and hazards yardage when on the teebox and will automatically change to give the green readings for your approach shots. Also, if you are on hole 1 and your tee shot lands in the fairway on hole 2, Golflogix does not change and will continue to give the correct yardage to the green for hole 1. The set up and dowloading of courses was very easy as well.

1 out of 5 stars Lousy Customer Service   August 12, 2008

Good luck with contacting their customer service. Does anyone answer GolfLogix's telephone? I even faxed a message, still no response. When I attempt to download a course, an error message appears that their system is down (now going into week three) On the positive side, the device works with my current list of courses.GolfLogix GPS by Garmin (2008 Model)

5 out of 5 stars My 15th Club   August 10, 2008

I love my GolfLogix GPS. I have toyed with buying a GPS for the course for several years, but decided to do so recently. I had initially planned on purchasing a Sky Caddie until I did some research and found out about the high hardware failure rates and poor customer service. When I looked at reviews online I couldn't find anyone who rated a Sky Caddie above 3 stars. Would you buy a new club that no one rated any higher than average? Well, I was well on my way to buying a Bushnell range finder until I saw the GolfLogix GPS. 2007 model had excellent ratings as did the 2008, so I bought the 2008 model. I have not been disappointed. They talk about quick service for updates and new course mappings...and they mean it. The first course I played had switched the front and back nines since the course had been mapped. I sent an email and the course was updated in 2 days. I haven't played anywhere that a hasn't been mapped yet, so I can't speak to how long that will take, but I suspect it will be done quickly. Also, battery life is a little short, but I wanted a battery powered one so I could always have spares in the bag...so I don't see this as a significant worry.

One final note, a week after I got my GolfLogix GPS, I shot my first subpar round of my life! Now, I don't want to give it too much credit, but I was so distracted by my new toy, that I played worry-free golf!

Good luck and I hope you find this useful.

4 out of 5 stars Great for Tournament Play!   August 9, 2008
I bought this as a gift for my husband. We like to play couples tournaments, and this has been great for that. It is nice to know the yardages on unfamiliar courses, and how far to each part of the green. Easy to use and can't wait to take it on vacation with us.

1 out of 5 stars Too many software lockups   August 9, 2008

I've had this product for two months. On numerous ocassions the software locks up and won't clear itself. You have to go online and reset the unit. This is unacceptable if you intend to use the unit often and keep it in your golf bag. Customer service has been helpful about educating the owners on how to use the reset option, but it shouldn't be necessary. At the very least, the unit should reset itself on a power down. By the way, didn't anybody think to include a scorekeeping function within the software. Since the unit is on during play, it would be great to record a score and track putts. I am not happy with the purchase. Its price doesn't justify the inconvenience.
