5 out of 5 stars Bose ear buds   August 14, 2008
These ear buds are as good as any other Bose product.
How they improve the clearity of the music is truly amazing !

4 out of 5 stars They are good buds but all in all $$$   August 1, 2008
So I have been using a standard ipod headphones since i've purchased my ipod touch in november and those are about par if not a bit less for what I expect for a $15 pair of headphones
long story short - they broke (the rubber came off around them and they just fell to crap)

So I priced a few headphones
-apple standard buds $29? walmart
-bose in earbuds $90 amazon
-philips standard headphones $15

So I purchased the $15 headphones from phillips and the sound quality i found to be better than apples, but i couldn't block ANY sound when i would mow the lawn or do anything with sound so i returned them.
I purchased the bose buds
I expected rediculous sound being that i paid 1/3 the cost of my ipod touch just to have these headphones.

FINALLY-
The quality i found to be fuller and much more realistic than any other ear buds i've used. I have only had them a day but i have heard quite a few verses in songs that I had no idea what they were saying with my other buds and with these i could clearly hear what they were saying.
the sound is deffinitly crisper.
But for the price these headphones just don't - BLOW my mind like many think they should for what they are charging for them.

(another pair of headphones i found to be similar to these are the stock ear buds that come with the samsung yp-k5, yet the quality and comfort come no where near the bose the sound quality is a bit closer than all others mention prior)

2 out of 5 stars Bose Tri-Port In-Earphones   July 18, 2008
This has to be a product of the BOSE-interns, This is my first time being dissatisfied by BOSE and I own allot of Bose products. Whats wrong with this product is that if you are an active person going to use this at the gym DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT buy this earphones, most of my workout is spend trying to plug back into my ears with the free accessories provided by Bose it still doesn't help just frustrating. The sound quality is great but you wont be able to enjoy the sound as it falls out of your ear.

5 out of 5 stars Worth the Money? Probably Not   June 17, 2008

Update: If I could go back I would change my star rating to 3 stars (***). Why? That's because I listened to the Shure SE530PTH Sound Isolating Earphones with Push-To-Hear Control. The Shure is almost 5 times as much, but is it worth it? Yes, if you consider you have the best earphones made. Consider the Shure SE530 as the Lexus of earphones. The Bose would be the Camry, and the phones that come with some of the MP3 players are the Ford Taurus.

My advice: Give up whatever you have to for a few weeks or months and get the Shure SE530 earphones. You won't regret it, and you will hear the music they way it was supposed to be heard.

Here is my revised review for the Bose earphones:

If you are going to spend $100 you expect great sound. Well, you get good, but not great, sound with these.

These are the first good earphones I've owned. Some reviews say the bass is too much. Based on some of the reviews, I was expecting it to be overwhelming, but to me it isn't. The earphones are very comfortable. I have a SanDisk Sansa e250 2 GB MP3 Player with microSD Expansion Slot (Black) and I found the earphones that came with it hurt my ears after 30 minutes or so. With these earphones you won't have that problem. However, it seems that with the good bass it affects the treble somehow, kind of muffles it. I'm no expert, but after listening to the Shure SE530, you will realize the astounding difference.

The product code for these Bose earphones is 044435; they have black and white cables, and come with a carrying case. Apparently, the old ones are all black. The fit with the medium silicon tips was just right for me, and if you get them inserted correctly they won't fall out. Some reviews say the tip doesn't go in the ear canal, but in my case it does, and if it didn't I think they would fall out easily. If they fall out, then you need to change the silicon tip (they come with extras) until you get the right fit.
