5 out of 5 stars Altec ipod Dock   March 15, 2008

I am amazed at the sound that comes from this device. Even when my kids are playing outside, it sounds awesome - very deep sound.

5 out of 5 stars Best value for the price   February 25, 2008

This unit by far is the best quality for the price. My daughter and I looked at at least a dozen units all around $100 to $150 and this came out on top. The only down side is we are still waiting for the 2nd generation iPod adaptor which did not come with the unit.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Sound - equivalent to Bose Sound Dock   February 24, 2008

Had this ipod speaker for a year and the sound quality meets my high standards for my bedroom since my living room stereo is a $2000 system. I was delighted by the deep bass coming from a small portable system and I am convinced that most people will enjoy listening to it.

The biggest drawbacks are that it does not have a remote; it does not have a handle; and it is relatvely big and heavy. However, I later purchased the highly rated logitech mm50 system which has a remote and is easier to carry. The bass from the Logitech mm50 is lacking the punch of the Altex Lansing IM9. Buyers should be aware that, generally, the smaller the system, the smaller the bass output.

I really enjoy listening to the IM9 and I only use the logitech mm50 when I need ultra portability. In my opinion, the IM9 sound equal to the $300 Bose Sound Dock so the IM9 represents a very good value for your money. The IM9 is also equal to a $200 stereo shelf system but remember there is no remote. If I had a choice between better sound and a remote, I would choose the better sound...and the IM9 delivers the better sound.

I am Absolutely more than pleased with this product. I had an Ihome mobile audio player before I bought this. It went right back to the store for a refund. The quality and sound of this Im9 is unreal! This product is the only way to go. Thanks, RJ

2 out of 5 stars No adapter for 2nd Gen nanos   February 10, 2008

I was really excited to give this gift to my girlfriend. After a a lot of comparison shopping, I selected the im9. How upset were we when it was obvious the nano adapter was not for our ipod. That sucks.
