Works as adverstised! May 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This scanner has performed slightly above my expectations. I have scanned over 1,600 negatives so far and the resulting digital images look great. I wish it could do more at one time but six is okay. Of course, most of my negatives are in strips of 4 so I can only do 4 at a time but it moves along pretty quickly and is very easy to load. I have not done any slides yet but I assume they will be as good as the negatives. I have only scanned a couple of photos and they came out fine. The software works great, only a couple of crashes in all of my hours using it. I have never figured out what the buttons on the scanner do so I just use the software.
Fantastic for 35mm & slide scanning May 19, 2008 Was looking at reviews and found this through Photography Today article on scanners. They recommended it as an excellent low end (pricewise) scanner. They were right, I have scanned 45 year-old slides and they have come out beautifully and in less time than most scanner reviews advised. I highly recommend this scanner for the amateur film scanner.
Love this scanner! May 19, 2008 Had an earlier generation of this, only had to update because of new OS. Simple to use, great quality scans, works well with Photoshop.
CanoScan great with Vista 64 bit May 18, 2008 I've used this scanner for many applications. Standard scanning and film scanning. It will do 110 film if you play with the settings and make a film holder for it.
Scanning a breeze May 15, 2008 My recent purchase of Canon's Canoscan 4400f was a no brainer. From the beginning I enjoyed simple easy to read instructions and effortless installation of the software. The performance was staggering compared to my old flunky machine. I especially was blown away by the beautifully designed slide(s) scanner which is attached right under the scanner lid.No more fumbling around with trays and other special attachments to scan my slides. The scanner itself does a great job with sharp and crisp imaging. Best of all is pricing. How can you go wrong at $89.00 and have all those features plus prompt delivery service.
