Not as good a shredder as I had thought... August 23, 2007 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
...but does the job for the most part. It jammed the very first time I used it and it took me 30 minutes to clear it out. And you can't put over 2 sheets at a time or it will almost grind to a halt. Not overly pleased, but I think it will be an adequate shredder for my home. Just be careful how much paper you put in at one time.
solid shredder August 23, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
So far, i've owned 3 shredders, and this by far is the best. It tears through pages with ease, and there are no visible moving plastic parts that would wear down with time. It cuts through the pages with much more ease than other multi-page shredders that i've owned.
Just what I ordered August 20, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good product. Good price. Good service. Timely delivery. Just what I ordered.
Great shredder August 18, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This item is perfect for your home office. Relatively quiet, fast and a simple, sleek design fits most any decor. Does exactly what it says (even destroys credit cards)! Very happy with this purchase!
Exactly what I need - shuts off when cats paws touch!! August 15, 2007 23 out of 27 found this review helpful
I've had this for about a month now, and I use it daily. So far, everything has worked better than expected. There haven't been any issues with any part of the device, and the shredder does indeed handle 8 sheets without trouble.
I'm the kind of person that likes to leave things on. My computer stays on 24/7 because I don't want to be bothered with waiting for it to reboot. Same goes for the printer. I just don't want to stand up, lean over to the printer, and press the ON button. Undoubtedly, this is not energy conscious, and in every other aspect of my life I *am* energy conscious. Anyway...
So I like to leave my shredder on too. Even if I didn't, the chances of me forgetting to turn it off are very high. The first thing I did when I tested this unit was to *VERY CAREFULLY* brush the metal lip with the paw of one of my cats, and was extremely happy to see the orange light go on - which means that the unit has disabled.
I'd read one too many forwarded e-mails about cats being caught in shredders somehow to NOT have this in my house. I'm delighted to report that it works as advertised.
