Nice Shredder June 6, 2008

For the price it works real well. It really only does about 3 pages, 4 pages tops, and seems like its straining sometimes, but it never stops working or never overheats since I have bought it. I have had it work for about 4 baskets full on more than one occasion and no issues, and I previously had used over 4 other machines over the last year. This one is here to stay!

This paper shredder certainly does it's job in my house. I have only had it for a month or so and it's for home use so I haven't tested it enough to know it's limits. The laminated ID card I put through was pretty ripped up but not in separate pieces so if you really tried hard you might read a name off of it - but the magnetic strip or any embossed numbers would definitely be useless. Hence the 4 star rating. As for the safety of it.... it looks like it would keep your child's little fingers safe but I wouldn't want to try it to find out! If it stays this functional for several years to come, I'll be really happy with it.

This unit is a good shredder if you don't have a great deal of things to shred. It will handle two to three 8.5X11 sheets without much fuss. According to the manual (yes I did read the manual) it should only be run five minutes at a time with a cool down period of a couple of minutes. The unit shuts down after each sheet wich doies not give very much time to clear the shredded paper from the gears. The unit also will shut off if you touch (even so slightly) the metal rim around the paper feed. It took me a whie to get used to that. Over all though, I would purchase this model again.

Well i am disappointed with the performance of this product it is so slow and noisy. It's supposed to shred 8 sheets at a time but when I tried 5 sheets it was hard pressed already in shredding the paper. It lacks the power to shred forcefully.
