Awesome machine March 10, 2008 I was hesitant to purchase this item. Everyone gave it great reviews as far as performance, etc. but there were a lot of reviews that said the initial setup (wireless and software) was a nightmare. I am far from computer proficient. Yet, the setup couldn't have been easier for me. I did have to make one phone call to HP and that was a breeze too. Definately worth the money.
HP Photosmart C7280 All in one March 10, 2008 This printer was very easy to install and functions well. It is a little noisy when printing, which can be distracting in a small office. The photo quality prints were acceptable for snapshots, but fall way below the standards of professional and advanced amateur photographers. The duplex printing unit works very well. However, to choose between left hand binding and flip-up layouts Macintosh users NEED the latest HP driver, available at the following website: [...]
Great Printer small price March 8, 2008 This a great printer with a small price tag. It worked great out of the box. I have set it up as a network printer so that the wireless computers in the house can print from anywhere. The only problem is running out of paper. The fax and scanner works good. My wife loves the memory card instant print for pictures. You don't need to load the pic's to the computer then print. Good menu for printing from memory cards. The two-sided printing also saves paper. The software loaded fast and is very friendly. Just follow the instructions and it works.
Possible solution for Wireless "printer not found" installation problem. March 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like others, I had problems during installation when I chose the wireless ethernet connect option for the HP C7280.
The printer COULD find the wireless router and could connect successfully...
My WinXP laptop was successfully using the wireless router...
BUT during installation the set-up software COULD NOT not find the printer. [Yes I did have my firewalls turned off and yes my antivirus etc software was turned off, and yes I was using the latest installation software (March 08) downloaded from the HP website and not the supplied CD.]
Installation was OK when the ethernet cable was used.
HP support could only say that the problem was NOT HP's and that they could not help. I was advised to talk with my computer vendor and/or my Internet Service Provider.
In the end I found that:
a) my Dynalink RTA1025W wireless router has a Packet Filtering Firewall feature I did not know about. I had to turn this OFF (use the router advanced set-up software to do this) before the set-up software could find the printer.
b) the HP C7280 software had to be completely uninstalled, and the computer re-booted before the set-up software could find the printer.
Only when these two conditions were met did was the installation software able to find the wireless printer.
I hope this helps some-one.

Good hardware, Wifi works, pain to install in windows, but works like a charm March 3, 2008
I bought this for my small office
We needed it mostly for scanning.
The Windows intall, is patheticly slow and painfull. Go for the online drivers, my CD was buggy. The mac install works like a charm. The Windows machine looses the Printer every now and then, but you manage to get it back online. Always works on the macs.
I found I cannot do one particular operation on the Mac side, that we can do on the Windows side. Looks like the software was written by a different company.
We have it scanning, and pulls just about everything into the automatic feeder. Even thermal tickets, and fine bank deposits. I also give it legal paper that does not fit the bed, it goes without a problem into the feeder.
As a printer. Well, it works, I have not pushed it. I just print fast grey documents. in tanks are small to my taste. but have not run out yet, just 50 prints to date. The duplexer works nice too. On both mac and windows.
