 Very good machine May 30, 2008
I have had the printer for about 6 weeks. I was hesitant to buy it because of the negative comments, but then every other printer has comments from people unhappy with the product. I got a great deal on the HP C7250 for less than $200, which is the same as the C7280 sold elsewhere. Can't beat the price.
The printer is smaller than my previous HP T45, which is pretty amazing. You get a lot of machine with a relatively small footprint. The printer was very easy to set up right out of the box. I was waiting for software install problems that people have written about. There were none. The software installed with no problem in a reasonably short amount of time. Had I known about installing the latest drivers and updates directly from the HP website I would have done that.
I have used all the functions except for two side printed, and wifi. Everything works fine. The photo print quality is more than adequate. If I wanted professional high quality photo prints I would probably take them to a professional. The scanner amazed me. I scanned in some sheet music. I had heard that most scanners have trouble reading musical notes. This scanner did a perfect job to both pdf and Word documents.
The only negative to this point is the printer is very noisy, and not only during printing. It does a lot of whirring and clicking and moving its parts just all by itself. It was a little unnerving at first, but now it's not that big of a deal. If you are looking for a very quiet printer this is not it.

Purchased this product about a month ago and the only problem I am having is setting up the wireless for my laptop. My laptop is a Dell Inspirion and it does not recognize the network connection. Other than that it is a great addition. The cost was a little high because after I purchased this AIO for over $200.00, I saw it at Fry's the following week for about $110.00. This was not a sale price.
I read a lot of the reviews before making my purchase and I must say the ones recommending that you download the software rather than installing it from the disk was right on time. Photosmart C7280 All-in-One
 Awesome Printer May 28, 2008
This is my first Printer/Scanner/Fax. I am very impressed with the ease with which I was able to set it up. I had no problems. The software has been very easy to use. I have used it to scan documents and pictures so far. Everything has been simple and the quality has been great. I have printed out a few pictures and they actually looked better than the pics that came from the "professional" printers. Overall, I am impressed with what this printer can do. I haven't started to run out of ink as quickly as I thought either...

It has now been eleven days since I ordered the printer, at the special price of $167, but still have no delivery date, with Amazon claiming "none in stock". However, Amazon has plenty for sale at $250. They say I can delete my order at any time!!!! I shall refrain from any future orders until this is resolved. If I ever get a printer, I'll gladly comment on it.
 Software Problems May 18, 2008
I recommend that everyone read Michael L. Andrews' instructions. He has the key to keeping your computer from coming to a crawl. I tried installing this printer the HP recommended way and my computer became unresponsive or at least slow sometimes. Sometimes it took 5 minutes to connect to the internet. I saw that some people were saying that they did not understand what people were complaining about, but they are just the lucky ones. I have plenty of space and my computer is not old, but even though the printer stated that I had a successful wireless connection, the computer said printer not found until I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times.
