5 out of 5 stars Cannon CanoScan 8800F Color Scanner   April 3, 2008

My children are delighted with the slides I have been able to share with them as a result of using this Canon CanoScan 8800F Color Scanner. We took slides of our children from their earliest years until they were in their school years. As a result of having this scanner they have been able to see these pictures on their computers. Their children can now see what they looked like as babies and children. It has been easy to use the scanner and the results have been excellent.

I recently purchased this scanner and cannot be more pleased with the quality, the ease of operation and looks. So far I have scanned over 300 slides and have been very happy with the outcome. I will next scan my color negatives and then my black and white negatives in both 35mm and 2-1/4 Format. If the negatives are as good as the slides, I cannot see why anyone would spend more than $200 for a scanner. Go out and buy one today while the secret is still a secret and before the price jumps.

4 out of 5 stars an excellent scanner   April 2, 2008

For the price, I think this scanner would be very hard to beat. It does a good job scanning 35mm slides, 4 at a time at up to 4800 dpi resolution, but takes about a minute a slide. It scans photos, again 4-5 3x5 or 4x6 at a time, at whatever resolution you want and takes less than a minute to do all of them, saving each image as a separate file, if you space them out a bit on the scanner window.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to use!   April 1, 2008

I have been very pleased so far with this scanner. I purchased it for the purpose of scanning my grandparent's negatives/slides so they could be archived and enjoyed by the whole family. I'm by no means finished, but it has done a great job with the negatives, photos, and slides I have done so far. I'm just beginning to try out some of the aspects of the software in retouching the materials and are equally pleased with those. This amateur would recommend this easy to use package to anyone!
