 No jam shredder July 22, 2008
Shredder works great. It is smart enough to prevent jamming. Just give it some oil, and it keeps on shredding.
SIMPLE SHREDDER July 22, 2008
Wow. What a great machine. We are likely some of the last people on the planet to obtain a shredder. Even my elderly MIL has had one for years. Well, when all of our availabel storage overflowed into our living space, we decided the time had come.
We read lotsa reviews and talked to a lotsa of people. It seems that most people usually buy a cheap one, than end up buying a better one shortly thereafter. We decided to go directly to step two and bought this baby.
We have no comparison to make. We just know that Amazon had a great price, shipped it quick and the machine works flawlessly.
At first we were a little nervous, because we literally had tons of stuff to chop up! But this baby tore right thru it all and is ready to tear thru more. why mess around, bite the bullet and get the job done right.

I have purchased several lower-priced shredders and have tired of it. I finally spent the extra money and got this Fellowes unit. It is great. Quiet, does the job that it says that it does.....

I purchesed this product on 06/03/08 so I have not had it to long but I can tell you this about it. It has far exceded my expectations of a shredder. It is quiet, easy to use and easy to set up. It has caused no problems as of yet and I would highly recomend it to anybody.
 Very good but a little noisy July 1, 2008
I purchased the SB89Ci because it had very good reviews throughout the internet. My previous Fellows Shredder that I bought 3 years ago finally broke after the sensing unit did not work anymore.
Pros for the 89Ci: 1) Shreds very fast and efficiently, 2) Easy to remove shredded paper without making a mess, 3) Sensing mechanism telling you how much paper you should slide through is very useful in order to avoid jams, and 4) good price based on the features and capacity.
Cons for the 89Ci: 1) Louder then I expected (may be I have an issue with mine?)...but it seems to shred with no problems, and 2) I had an issue with the wheels--difficult to install.
I would recommend this shredder because for about 7 weeks it has worked with no problems. It has not been jammed even once....with my other shredder it would get jammed on a weekly basis. Other then it being a little noisy, it does what it is suppose to do.
