5 out of 5 stars High performance,low price   May 13, 2008
Excellent little radio.
A radio like this 30 years ago would have cost hundreds of dinero.
Amazing performance from a $30 transceiver.
I paired it with a Cobra HG-A1500 mobile antenna that I had and I'm on the air.
Had contacts within 10 miles with this setup.
No complicated setup whatsoever.
Just plug and play.
Amazon shipped fast and free as usual.

3 out of 5 stars Works, but quality control needs to be better   May 2, 2008
My first unit had bad popping noises that came from a bad microphone connector on the unit. The 2nd unit I received did not have this problem, but when power is applied it starts on channel 33, the first unit was channel 9 which is what it should start on per the manual. So I really feel you could have some issue that is minor that your unit is not perfect.

Also I attempted to use the unit without a microphone attached and it requires the microphone for the internal speaker to work, kinda a weird design. My other complaint with it is that I believe with it powered down (complete power removed) it should retain the last channel you were on. Having to change the channel every time you turn the car on, I take it between vehicles and use a cigarette light and my cigarette light looses power when the car is off. I like things to go off with the car ignition so I don't have to power things on and off every time I get in the car.

The tuning knob is not of the highest quality, it can jump 2 channels when you click it once, and if you don't click it all way it will start running through the channels. But for the price you are getting it for it does seem to receive well with the Wilson Lil Wil antenna. Can't complain too much for the price, Im happy.

5 out of 5 stars great for the price   April 19, 2008

5 out of 5 stars Great CB for the price   April 3, 2008
I couldn't find a CB with all these features (RF gain, PA and CH9 switch) for less money and believe me I looked! The audio is clear and loud enough to be heard in a jeep. If I had to change one thing about it I would make the Microphone a little smaller. The unit is sleek and compact but the mic looks and feels like the classic mics of the 70.

Great for traveling. Turn it to channel 19 and hear some traffic info and learn a few new words and phrases in the process.
