5 out of 5 stars Works Great!   June 25, 2008
This av switcher/selector works perfectly for my needs. I have an older HDTV that does not have any HDMI ports, so component video is my only HD option at the moment.

My TV has two "component in" connections but I needed three and this switch was the perfect solution. I now have my PS3, Roku Netflix player and my digital cable TV signal running through this switch into component one on the TV. It also has digital (fiber optic) audio, so I have my PS3 and the Netflix player audio running into my Yamaha receiver via toslink optical/digital audio cables for excellent sound.

This item really simplified my setup. I couldn't be happier with it.

3 out of 5 stars Optical Issues   June 5, 2008
1st I bought a refurbished unit and the optical output was physically gone from the unit so I returned it to Amazon (FYI: the video switched properly and looked good). Next, I purchased a full priced unit but I couldn't get any optical output to be recognized by my Denon AVR. I could hold the input and output optical cables together and see things work, but no luck through this switcher. Once again my 1080i video and analog audio switched properly & nicely. It's simple to use/hookup, but I can't speak highly for their build quality.

4 out of 5 stars Component video switch   June 1, 2008
This component video switch by Cables to Go does everything advertised. The only problem I have had is the remote control is cheap and the power on button sometimes takes several presses to get it on. Otherwise this is a great deal and so far has provided an excellent picture in HD for my 3 component video inputs. Of course it would be better to have a TV or Receiver with this built in, but this is a cheap fix.

5 out of 5 stars Component Video Switch   May 30, 2008
I bought this component video digital switcher to connect 3 component video devices (HDTV tuner, 2 DVD players) to my TV, which has only one comnponent video input. The unit appears to be well made, and works as you would expect. It was easy to hook up and the connections on the back are clearly labeled for inputs 1,2,and 3. It has a small remote control to switch between the 3 devices, which makes it convenient to use. There are indicator lights on the front so that you can see at a distance which input you have selected, along with a power indicator. Very nice. As a bonus, the unit can be used with digital optical audio or regular stereo cables, whichever your system is using. (But only one type of audio at a time. It doesn't do both at the same time.)
All in all, I am very happy with this device, especially considering the inexpensive price that it is for sale on Amazon.

3 out of 5 stars It's too pricy but...eh...   May 23, 2008
This thing serves it's purpose as a component video switcher, however the same unfortunately cant be said about audio.

I am a very avid gamer. I needed to buy this when I got all 3 current generation consoles. It seems to render video signals flawlessly, but audio seems to be a little choppy at times. In particular, when there is a lot of loud yelling or singing going on. Most of the time it isn't too noticeable, but when you play a game like Rock Band where sound is of the utmost importance, it can be quite the let down. I started using my old composite system switcher for sound and this for video that way I can get the best of both but I shouldn't need to use 2 system switchers because the more expensive of the 2 doesn't work as well.

Overall, I would recommend buying a different system switcher over this. Something that's 50 bucks should work perfectly on all fronts.
