1 out of 5 stars waste of money   January 8, 2007

although well hyped and styled the sound quality is poor. These should have been been labeled as 'NO BASS' earbuds. While they sound better than the Ipod buds (well anything would) the sound is tinny and lacks any hint of bass , period. Anyone would be better off with the Koss sparkplugs at 1/3 the cost

I agree with Cnet reviews. These earphones rock. The bass does thump. The highs and midranges are well-defined, unlike when using the Sennheisers CX300-Bs. I only wish I had read the reviews for these earphones before I invested in the Sennheisers.

I bought these earbuds a week ago, and i was a sceptic of their greatness. I really didn't think that earbuds could ever sounds too great, or have such powerful bass. I was wrong. These are absolutely great and they have outstanding bass!

5 out of 5 stars Awsome! Best Earbuds EVER!   December 23, 2006

I'll make my review short and sweet. I agree with everyone who has said these buds bring excellent BASS. They Do, and you don't have to kill your ear canal stuffing them in to get in. Just gently place them in your ear and you have awesome sound!

4 out of 5 stars Not all that it was made out to be but still good   December 15, 2006

I researched earbuds for quite sometime on the internet, in magazines and with friends. It comes out to V-Moda on paper as being the best bang for the buck at $43 and some would place this product above others that cost more than $300. I love bass and I love a bargain so after reading all these reveiws about how V-Moda's bass freq was almost -too- bass heavy and loud I was reaching for my C.C. and then I read further to find out that some did not like the mids and highs while others praised them and yet others said they were ok.
After purchasing them on Amazon for a better deal than on V-Moda's own website I waited three days, impatiently, to get them and after the build up of anticipation I must admit: they DO have really good bass when and ONLY when the right song is playing else all is lost into a warbled mess of mids, highs and hard thumping blurred bass. So what did I do? I changed EQ on my Creative Zen to each preset and then went into the "Custom EQ" to make my own settings so now roughly 60% of my songs sound not only good but wonderful and the other 40% is just poor in sound.
I guess I am really happy that I didn't spend over $300 and get this but I will admit that these earbuds are quite a package (cord wrapping device, three sets of diff. size earbud attachments and they have cool music on their website) for the $43 I spent on them plus they remind me of my car stereo as far as bass goes. So, like a few people who have reviewed these earbuds I must state this again for it is very important: If you listen to rap, hiphop, techno or dance music you will appreciate this product but if you like country, metal, oldies, classical, audiobooks and show tunes I'd have to recommend you steer clear of this product.
Curiously enough, I fail to see the fashionable qualities in these earbuds. I am not saying they aren't there but I just fail to see how earbuds can become a fashion accessory like their website tries to pass it off as. Yeah, it looks cool but they are just earbuds...

The reason I gave them a 4 of out 5 is because they are very good for bass heavy applications of music playing like they and others have said but I can't say they are excellent because they fail to accuratly reproduce all styles of music that I enjoy.
