 Excellent Buy June 28, 2008
This headset has proven to be an exceptional purchase. I was hesitant based on some other reviews and problems those had but I proceed with caution. I followed the burn in procedure as recommended and the quality in sound is exceptional. There have been no issues with physical failures or excess wear. This headset is used on a daily basis and gets a great deal of wear and tear and it's held wonderfully up to the challenge.

These headphones are great sounding. I bought them as my first pair of headphones over $40, because i needed something that was strong enough to block out the subway train rattling on my commute to school. I loved them when i first began listening, the bass was warm, the vocals were crisp and clear. But then a week later one earphone gradually faded, and stopped working. I returned them to the store for a second pair, which did the same thing after a week of use. As did the third.
I am now on my 4th pair, and i dreadfully wish i could just get my 100 bucks back. I'm stuck with these stupid things and it's been over 30 days, so now i must mail them into v-moda to get them replaced. What a pain!
If you are interested in these headphones, i would only recommend them if you are not going to be walking, jogging, or running with them. They are not durable enough to wear while active. not at all.

I've been using these earhphones for over a year now and I really love them. I have had no problems with them, a testament to the quality materials and workmanship.

Got 15 days past end of product warranty and then in the jack gave out. Had generally liked them till I hit this snag. They've had a pretty easy life until now. Given the cost, I had hoped they would be more robust.
A well-designed, appropriately priced option May 20, 2008
I bought a refurbished set that I've had for six weeks (I think they're the later version). They're exponentially better than the iPod earbuds. They provide more solid bass and clearer highs and mids. I've had trouble with in-ear headphones fitting before, but these stay pretty snug. The rubber molds flex easily and the three different sizes gave me plenty of options. I could see them possibly jostling loose if you were to run with them, but I haven't tried that yet. Having the two different color molds helps to distinguish right and left, if you have trouble reading the tiny letters.
Though my review is on the set I got from Amazon, my wife also bought a new pair at the Apple Store and her left earbud blew out after a couple of months. We returned them and she was given a full new set in the box (we'd only returned just the headphones). The online return process was easy and we got a newer version than what she had before. A very pleasant process.
I'm giving five stars for aesthetics, price, performance and the returns process (for my wife's pair).
