Clean sound at a very reasonable price October 5, 2008 I bought these earphones as a "standin" measure while my Bose in-ear phones were being replaced. I am impressed by the clean sound these Creative in-ear headphones. And the efficiency is higher than most other earphones I have pluggged into my MP3 player.
This product does not offer the full bass I experience with the Bose. But then again, they cost $90 bucks or so. And the frequency range these reproduce is clean and accurate across the spectrum. You can afford to lose these Creatives without feeling devastated.
I'm glad I bought these and I'd rather take them on airplanes or in travel because they are less fussy to use-- the Bose easily loses the silicon ear inserts. And again losing them won't create a financial trauma.
flawed design September 30, 2008 the fit is funny no matter which size i use. i have previously used a sony one similar to this. since it doesn't fit properly, i can't judge its sound quality. the earbud is too short/stocky. its really useless for me because i must pressed into my ear in order to get the full sound.
Weak connections September 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use in-ear headphones for audio books for nearly 100% of listening. I carry the e-phones on me all day long so that I can continue listening when I have a spare minute. That means that I have special requirements: (1) decent quality and volume without actually insertion deep into may ear, so it can be removed fast when needed; (2) I use mostly e-phone in one ear for safety reasons; (3) length of cables should permit reasonable operations with i-pod in a trouser's pocket; (4) cable must remain flexible at freezing temperatures; (5) cable must not jerk e-phones out of ears when walking. I have tried a variety of different brands. Original i-pod phones have a cable that becomes stiff in winter. Sony have rigid plastic at transfer to horizontal e-phone which makes it inconvenient during movements. Proper combination is achieved by Creative EP-630 e-phones. There is only one problem: without visible damage to cables, one of the buds stops working after about 2 to 3 months of heavy use. I would understand visible tear. Invisible tear means defective design. I shall try now EP-640. If it will break within the same period of time, I shall switch to another brand with similar construction characteristics: rubberized cable, length about 3 to 4 ft and similar bud design. If Creative people read these reviews, look into design defect that leads to wire damages somewhere inside the phone.
Nice little earbuds September 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nice little headphones for a small price. Not my top of the line earbuds but they have full sound and they don't fall out or get tangled when I'm running.
Great sound for the price September 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been using these for a few weeks now. I was a fan of the good but cheap Koss Sparkplugs, but they always seem to break after a few months. The 630's don't have quite as strong bass as the 'plugs, but the sound is much better balanced with less distortion, good detail, not fatiguing to listen to, like a minature version of my Grado SR-125s. They are small enough to lay comfortably on your side in bed with them on, and feel comfortable in the ear. Isolation is good enough to use on the bus. You do get some noise through the cables when you move, but you will get that with any in-ear phone. It goes without saying these are miles better than the standard iPod earbuds. Highly recommended for the price. The other advantage over earbuds to remember is you don't need the volume as high, helping iPod battery life.
