4 out of 5 stars Pretty good for the price   July 23, 2008
After picking up a new iphone 3g decided to replace my 4 yr old Shure E2Cs.

In comparison, the V-Moda's have better audio quality than my Shures (however it didnt block out as much ambient noise as the Shures did)

The V-moda's are able to hit the highs and lows pretty well, much cleaner than the original iphone headphones

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY!!!!!!! Built to last a month... On my third set   July 20, 2008
Do not buy this product. I am waiting for my third set to come in the mail. I hve had two sets that have broken. This product is great for the month it works and then you are left with nothing. I need mine for work and it has been a total inconvenience. Thanks v-moda!

1 out of 5 stars They're NOT durable!   July 19, 2008
I bought one in the Apple Store. Great sounds, no doubt about it. But after a month and a half, the left side wasn't functioning already. I came back to the Apple Store to have them replaced. A month after, the new one wasn't functioning as well.

The Apple Store was kind enough to replace it but they just advised to give me a refund and look for another brand. Obviously, they get a lot of returns. They sound good but they won't last long!

3 out of 5 stars Good headphones while they last   July 16, 2008

I've had these headphones for awhile. They're pretty good although more expensive than non-iphone noise canceling ear buds. I've had them for just over a year. I was pretty disappointed to see the mic on the cord lacking the pause feature that the free iphone headphones had. Then after about six months the mic stopped working. The covered cord doesn't really do anything to protect against internal wire degradation as now my left ear bud no longer works. I never abused these, they basically went into my bag to go to work and were used in a laptop that I do my programming on. So, $100 for six months of full use, six months of partial use and now they're done for. If these things actually were built to last I would have given them five stars.

2 out of 5 stars Good sound but not for long...   July 14, 2008

Folks

I am writing as a somewhat disabused customer...

As it turns out I have within the past six months purchased no less that 3 V-Moda Vibe Duo for my iPhone and they all have failed me in short time.

To be honest with the first one I was pretty careless and after two month of intensive use it started to exhibit some hissing / cracking which finally turned into no sound at all. Well, I purchased a second one and after about ONE month of carful use I lost all sound in one of the ear buds... Still in love in what I believe is a great product both in terms of features and sound quality I recently acquired my third headset and this time I have decided to be super super careful. No bending in my pockets, always delicate insertions, well you get it... Much to my dismay it failed me after TWO weeks.

In all cases there is no visual clue of anything being damaged but the internal connectors obviously did not survive my use... I don't know if I'm doing something special or if there is some design weakness but all I can say is that the no-name el-cheapo headset I have used in-between the times I did not have my VibeDuo is still in good shape (obviously no mike, no remote control, poor sound but it WORKS).

So beware - very nice but not durable IMHO
