Great remote July 24, 2008 We had another Harmony remote but then got this one. I like that it's rechargable, as the old one would start getting blinky with the batteries before long. I also like the "screen saver" that shows photos. My husband set it up quickly with our PC, and it is easy to use. The only complaint I might have is that when held horizontally, pointed to the tv, the perspective is wrong on the screen, so you have to hit slightly above your mark in order to accurately hit the button. But I do recommend this highly.
The best yet! July 24, 2008 This is the forth Logitech remote I have purchased; the 680, 880, 550 and now the One. Each upgrade has been better and more refined than the pervious edition. The prgraming sofware is the best out there but in some places needs a bit more refinement and I am sure in time it too will become more intuitive. The ONLY complaint I have is the Ir seems to be a bit weaker than previous models so pointing the unit needs to be more percise. That apparent weakness may be caused by the Ir signature put out by my LCD Tv's electronics interfering with the One's signal. Whatever the cause, the effect is many false or incomplete signals recieved by my LeapFrog Ir target when not taking care in pointing.
I have had to contact tech support in a couple of instances and until the last contact I have been very please with the professional and technical knowledge. Those previous calls were handeled by tech reps based in Canada. My last call apparently ended up in India with a complete break-down in language understandings in both directions. It ended up in complete frustration and a hang-up. I hope Logitech is aware of the problem and returns tech support totaly to North America.
Worth the money July 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A fabulous, intuitive remote that has worked with every device I've tried it with. The buttons are well-placed, the ability to use your own icons and backgrounds allows more convenience (while also giving it a personal touch), and the "help" feature fixes most problems on the fly without having to reconnect it to your PC. And to top it off, Amazon Prime was able to get it to me the day after I placed the order for only $4 more.
I couldn't be more pleased.
Awesome Easy Remote July 22, 2008 I have bought probley 5 remotes to control my gadgets and i can get most of them to work but there is always one that doesn't work..so now i have two remotes not one...Harmony Remote fixed that problem..i have a sony reciever samsung tv and DVD Motorola DVR cable box sony vcr (old style) All work on one remote no problems setting it up worked the first time..now i get to program it to have all the fun settings and favorite..the macros turns on item you want and if you want to turn something else on it shutsdown the previous items and turns on what you need.
It's a pricey remote 180-200 dollars and your like holy Sh%@ but you get what you pay for.a easy remote to use and many options to upgrade later down the road.
I'm very happy with the remote and its so simple to use by everyone.. a 30 minute set-up time is need but the instructions walk you through it for non computer savy people.
Harmony's best model yet! July 21, 2008 In spite of reviews noting the drawback of screen based menus of the Harmony 1000 we initially tried that unit. Both my wife and I were disappointed with that unit's screen sensitivity, accuracy, and limited screen creativity that its technology would have permitted. We converted over to the Harmony One and every issue was solved in this design - buttons you get used to by feel, a great screen that does a far better job with its display menu design and a charger that eliminates the battery swap of earlier units. I'm selling the 1000 on Ebay and very, very satisfied with every aspect of the Harmony One - better design, better screen menus, and the advantage of all common function buttons by easy feel - all at a better price. Combined with Harmony's awesome web programing and technical support, his is the best of the batch!
